Type of Loot in WoW

PychiPychi Member Posts: 4

hOla all,

Since WoW isn't around yet in Europe i'm playing EQ II. One of the (many) things bothering me there is the complete lack of loot. Hardly any mobs drop anything. In 8 lvl's of killing stuff i've got _two_ drops worth more than 8 copper. Apart from the lack of cash it's pretty boring, i like the suspense of that 'loot-moment' ::::02:: The other game i play atm is Eve Online, much better lootwise.

How's WoW? No loot, nice loot or too easy uber loot?

WOW has really good drops. You can also quest for items also that are really good. I played EQ2 also and the drops and crafting in wow is alot better. You can loot an uber item to use like chest , gloves sword, but most of the times the drops are lower than you but you can sell them at the auction house if you want. Its not real easy to get uber items though, you have to get lucky and get those, but I have got a couple of nice items.

it get's better, when you start out, your high-light of the moment will actually be looting a bag :)  I am level 44, so my highlighted moments come from all the green items I come across, usually ever type of mob has a chance at dropping a 'green' type item, that has bonus stats and an ok ratio.  This gives people who just stick to outside of instance mobs a chance at good loot as well.

Albeit, the green items are rare, but if you check thottbot out, you can see if a monster your fighting has a chance (even if it's a slim chance) to drop a good green item for you.  I believe at your level, getting a green hunting bow was my first one, good for those starting hunters :)

anyway, I in no way think the loot sucks in WoW right now, the loot tables are large and random enough to not saturate the market (unless you have a bunch of crafters all going for the same item ;) )
