Best FPS with least dependent cash shop
I am looking for a good MMOFPS to play until GW2 is released or another decent game.
Does anyone know of any good FPS without a big dependancy on cash shops? Or if there is a dependacy a low cost to get the items.
I am currently trying AVA, but I am pretty sure you need to buy good guns with real money in order to be good.
For P2P games I already have:
ALL COD Games
ALL BF Games
Borderlands
Section 8
Global Agenda
and some others
Any recommendations would be great. I am just looking for a good shooter that doesn't get old too fast and has weapon upgrades or some type of leveling / rank system.

Look at planetside 2 ontw this year though I distrust and dislike soe
also battlefield 3 incoming.
While not an mmofps, you might find Combat Arms quite enjoyable. It's a good FPS with lots of weapons and upgrades and I've never felt the need to dish out any cash to compete.

There's some beta key giveaway for APB on the main page.. I'd give it a shot...
IT's over already, and kind of disappointing. You input your beta key, fill out this form having you post your DxDiag results as well as ping times for different IP addresses, and a bit of other basic stuff, then it just tells you you MIGHT get selected. The beta key itself doesn't get you in.
I know you said you have the Battlefield games, but have you tried some of the browser battlefield games? There's also Quake Live. And, it's buy to play, but TF2 is quite fun I find, and you can get items just from playing, or you can buy them in the cash shop.

I would toss GunZ in here if you want to try something different, and on crack fast paced. Hope you got a quiet and durable keyboard/mouse though haha, I actually broke a mouse playing this game once..
Although I havn't touched it in years and the cashshop was pretty over powered even then, but i'd still say it was about 75-80% skill based and surprizingly most people just plain sucked, atleast until you got up into the lv30+ range. Getting to 30+ will take a long long time though, and by that time you'll probably be done with it anyways.
Protip (lol): Learn to do something called HS.
It's where you switch to melee, jump dash in any direction followed by a melee swing, then switch to your guns for a shot while in the air, switch back to melee and repeat as fast as you can LOL. You can litterally fly around, bounce up walls, AND shoot once you get it down.
You'll know it if you ever see it, I remeber thinking it was a hack at first, but no it's just part of the game haha.
If you can get that down though, you will be able to compete with even the pimped out CS players.
Hell even just rapidly moving in a circular motion (A,S,D,W) and spraying machine guns used to work pretty well until you get used to that HS technique.
You can try Mars War. Its what used to be known as Welkin 4591. A chinese made Planetside clone. Just released Jan 1. Population is low but building fast. Its f2p also...
