Compared to the Open Beta, a few obvious errors in the story missions were fixed and weapons balancing was rewworked (I'm not really sure if the latter was an improvment ).
Sectors still have lag problems when lots of players are around. Together with the heavily instanced design, this means BP still has to earn the first "M" in MMO. The "RPG" is mostly missing too. Not really a problem if you are mostly looking for an action game, but BP has a long way to go before it can match the "big world" feeling of EVE.
But even so, I'll stick to BP for now. The fact that I can actually fly my fighter is something I really missed in EVE.

I find it funny that as soon as the NDA lifted, everybody stopped caring about this game.
It's half-done and will never be completed because they think it's complete. Poor fools.
It has good combat and cool graphics but they sort of missed the whole immersion aspect of the MMO and lost most of their good population that way (escapists, RPers). The population they have left are powergamers and they aren't the most friendly folk to base a community on, plus they're prone to cheating and hacking because winning is the only thing they focus on. The problems they have created are so deeply rooted in existing game mechanics that it is impossible to just fix, they would have to go back into development to complete this half-baked game.
But hey, at least it's free.
Why don't they realize that every space game should follow a similar path that previous masterpieces like freelancer took as far as exploration and openess goes. It's sad but just proof that they are a simple company only thinking about the revenue bottom line and completely forgetting to make a game that caters to long term communities.
