First and foremost...before any name calling commences let me first tell you that I am a four year veteran of Everquest 1... I do not hate the game, I loved it until my last days. I have NOT played WoW and have only had very limited play on EQ2....

Coming from a magazine that promotes sexism and petty theft, that is not saying much. They give no reasons or statistics on why it is a bad game and therefore their statement is not relevent.

Entirely accurate however in a year both games will be seen as failures. Getting people to buy a game is easy. Keeping people playing is the hard part. I hate EQ2. I think WoW is for people that have other things to do in life but want to enjoy a game. Neither will survive the battle for gamers in 2005. There too much serious competition coming out.

I like number 12.

WoW is over hyped. Wait it out a year, I dont think there will be nearly as many subscirbers this time next year. EQ2 will stay pretty steady I imagine... we'll see.

EQ2 is designed to appeal to a player category, guilds folks.

 

I dont think EQ2 will be a top MMORPG, but they will be sturdy and doing somewhat nice IMO.

 

Since SoE didnt announce a new big project, I expect them to come back full strengh in old EQ.

 

I dont know what they are planning, but I am sure they are working hard on it.  Raiders(which is slightly different then guilds) will prolly glue to EQ.

 

SoE should have start servers merging or deleting some servers and moving player based.  They didnt.  They aint marketing weaklings, thereby they are working hard on a ''major'' secret offensive to draw back more raiders to EQ.

 

I dont believe WoW will survive GW, the timing seem perfect, no monthlee fees, the real devs behind Blizzard success titles.  I wont like GW, but GW may indeed succeed and be a freaking nice game(1 world, instancing, henchmen)...dont doubt it, I will curse more!  No monthlee fees, I doubt anyone playing WoW wont be trying GW, it is the real devs of their beloved games!!!  Cost them nothing but the original game, so what they have to lose?  GW team is prolly focusing on making sure what may bug WoW players wont be bugging them in their games.

 

Just my opinion, I could be wrong...at any rate, I will stick to CoH for now!

GW isnt even competition for WoW or EQ... lol.

Not only that but did you ever actually PLAY everquest 1 when it was going full force? like back in 2001 or so? EQ will NEVER EVER have the player base it use to......its old.....get use to it.

Everquest 1 is a crumbling game now. I just recently left finally after playing over 4 years, seeing 95% of the in game content and hitting max level on multiplle characters.... True raiding is fun.....but erm.... raiding is in EQ2 also.

Some of you old players can keep grabbing at straws if you want...but EQ 1 is not going to have a come back...might as well accept that.

And for some of you people to think that GW is going to have the player base to compete with WoW or EQ??!!! lol... you need to wake up
