You can patch a game to death, ya know, because no matter how much reason you have to nerf X, players rightfully expect some stability and predictability in their combat and classes.

Role Players dont have such problems. They dont play the "best of the best" chars, but the one's which fit them the most. :)

    PS: I love Gimps xD

I am possibly the MOST far away from any minmaxing in my mentality. I never care for endgame gear or anything like that. But I still play to win and play to survive, and even as it was, with many builts in Beta I definitely died way too often in Rift. Call me dense, but that how it was for me in beta. Death death and oh look I died again.

    NO FRIGGING WAY.

As a cleric healer?  Really..... you only die a lot of you're the only healer.  You get multiple healers and the other side calls your team a twink premade (we had 5 healers).

    * You can now report AFK teammates in a Warfront. When enough of the team has reported someone as AFK, they will have a short period to prove themselves by engaging the enemy or supporting the team. If they fail to prove themselves, they will be banished!

How is voting going to fix afk-botting  in a WF when there is a majority of bots?

its not like bots are going to vote on bots.... itll only work when the majority are players

did i say during prime time? no...

the majority is players during evenings and thats true (hardly any bots)

that doesnt change the fact that during the day the majority is bots no matter that u think

still its a step in the right direction but not a fix

And that's why no one listens to roleplayers.   "I don't care everything art fine with thee... balance shmalance good sir..!"  This is a game where people are competitive... if  you view the game as a way to work out your fantasy of being the good natured clumsey bard... fine, but realize that your view point is that of  an  uninvested bystander.

I defiantly wouldn't call Rift "competitive", i mean WoW's pvp is more competitive then Rifts lol.. I love Rifts pvp but it is just light-hearted fun if you ask me..

PS- champs were not fixed.. you have absolutely NO clue what made them OP.  They were killing people in a couple seconds... lower their stun to 3 seconds isn't gonna fix the issue..... hint dps wars can get a lot of off GCD abilities.... you macro them together and BAM.

Actually the Champion soul by itself was not the issue. The problem was some unintented synergy with the Paragon soul that was creating the problems. Whether this problematic synergy is corrected remains to be seen.

I don't know. So far the changes seemed absolutely necessary from my point of view. I'm also sure they will not be the last one of them. The more people experiment with synergies, the more they'll find ones that were not intented/too strong and will therefore get toned down.

Some of the stuff not related to class balance are hot patched today it seems. I predict that the changes will stay in the alpha server for a week or two before they end up implemented in the live. I would also not be surprised if the changes are not the exact copy of what's patched in the alpha server.

I have literally never seen such a heavy-handed nerfing company in my whole MMO experience and this includes being a druid at the beginning of everquest and later an iksar shaman.

Between the nerfs to synergy (I was a paladin/champion/beast in beta) the nerfs to classes and the increases to grind both faction and plaque I have been forced to cancel my account despite liking the game.

It was a great game concept that they decided to homogenize to their detriment and possible failure.

I play a paladin(32)/reaver(16ish) and at 41 have no problem at all tanking content above my level. unless your soloing with a paladin and using BOP as a primary means to grind and fring without having to stop and drink then this has no effect on anyone. Paladin is a tank soul, its designed to be used in synergy with a healer, not to be an unstoppable juggernaut in PvP/Questing.

I dont even have a tank soul on my quest build, and while i do go through a lot of drinks when i play dumb, if i play smart with my paragon/beastmaster i can chain kill without having to drink, even in multiple mob pulls.  If i do have to drink, it takes a whopping 3-5 seconds.  People are so used to being able to to chain kill everything that is 3-4 levels higher then they are from 1-max level without ever having to stop to drink/heal.  Take a break, take a sip and look at the scenery once in a while.

The problem, very specifically, is that the Paragon soul's tier 1 branch ability "Combat Precision" gives 100% armor penetration on the first point rather than 1% per point. Interestingly enough, they're not addressing this in the patch at all, despite this easily being the single most overpowered thing currently in the game. Instead they chose to nerf all kinds of other things that were fine as they were.

Hmm. Still no performance fixing :(

This is the sort of issue that can destroy a MMO, blancing which just causes more unbalance. I have never seen a Sab say they dont do enough damage. These guys run away from you pointing in the opposite direction while blowing you up, but they need more damage?
