Would you prefer to know it is coming in advance or not see it coming? For example, would you rather have it come in the form of a debilitatiing condition, like a disease, so you can prepare for it, or take you by surprise, like a car accident, so you don't have a chance to fear what lies ahead? And if your hope is to live to very old age, that would probably count as seeing it coming since you would know that you're near the end.

Head on; so I can throat punch Death when it's clock-out time.
With my boots on of course.
Whore-house heart attack on my 30th wedding aniversary, and leaving all my assets to the church of scientology.

Richer than all my friends.
I don't know why do we need to discuss tthis.. kinda freaky for me.. but of course I chose to die on painless >.<
i dont really care anyway, because i dont know how i will die anyways.
It's just a basketball tournament. It's not that big of a deal. Just relax and know the Buckeyes will be back.
In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.
I'd like to know it in advance. However, the process should be peaceful and short.
Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981
Good one. I assure you, it was purely coincidence that I thought of this subject so soon after the Buckeyes were ousted from the NCAA tourney.
i like suprises
i'd love to live long and get a terminal disease, then get hit by a bus or something.... take that cancer!
the struggle to free myself from restraints becomes my very shackles
I don't want to die of Cancer and I don't want to die in a Fire.
Other than that, it doesn't matter. It's probably going to be painful and I'm going to be dead afterwards, so it doesn't really make a difference.
Got a Game Idea? Look Here!
When i know i will die 1st thing i will do is...kiss my dog >.<
I surely hope that doesn't lead to a second activity with said dog.
How would you like your death? ...perpetually delayed by a minute.
I saw how my grandma died and I dont want to die like her...it was a very slowly death which took years. After a stroke lying in the bed for 12 years, without the option to speak or to stand up, fed by the staff from the retirment home, probably not much knowing what is going on. 12 years in the same room....at the end we did visit her after doctors said it is going to an end. It was like she waited for us and died in the arms of my mother in front of our eyes, I saw her last breath of air gasping for oxygen and the extreme rolled eyes, the last big rear up from the pillow ....it was terrible but she found her peace with almost 95 years.
I had a similar experience that gave me a strange outlook on death, namely on how 'subtle' it can be when it comes.
My grandfather ended up bedridden when he could no longer walk under his own strength, so that led to a rest home, and eventually a serious bout with dementia. He was in his room, in his bed, and my mother and I would walk in and get greeted by him with "what are you two doing here at the train station?". At first I tried my hardest to bring him back to reality, but when that reality did set in here and there, it was painful to see his expression... so we just left it as is when it would occur. Better that he imagine himself in a better place than the current hell.
Anyway, he slipped into a coma one day, and I would visit him on a daily basis, sometimes twice daily. The day it happened I walked into his room, sat down and started talking to him like as if he was conscious enough to converse back. I grabbed hs hand and he shuddered a bit and then loosened up, which I took as a good sign that he was still there. I talked to him for about 20 minutes until the nurse came in, who I then asked "he looks a bit dry, could you get him some liquid?". The nurse gets close and takes a good look at him and goes "he's dead". I didn't notice he stopped breathing immediately after I held his hand.
I spent rest of my life pondering that situation, and how strange/beautiful it was. Death can be really, really subtle if you're not paying attention.

Anything other than slow death by old age or disease. I still have dreams of some heroic death saving young lives, but that is hardly likely to happen. A massive stroke at about 65-70 would suit me fine.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
Hemingway
I choose to die at an old age, and buried underneath a big tree. So my descendant would go and say, "hey it's gramps' tree"
I chose option A because I would like my family to be prepared to chop up my body and use it as mulch for our family garden.
Hrmmm . ... Maybe they wont go for that . ..
Anyone else have any ideas for preserving my energy for the fam?
lol jk
