Some questions...

Me, my friend and brother are interested in playing this game, but I need some help with things...

 

1.) I've heard this is a classless game, all depends on skill. What skills can I train up? Sword fighting, bow, mining, wood cutting etc?

 

2.) Can me my brother and my mate all play toggether and make our own small clan and still be able to play freely? We won't be constantly ganked and looted because there is only three of us will we?

 

3.) I've heard that the materials farmed don't respawn quickly. How quickly do they respawn? Are there still areas with a lot of materials?

 

4.) Same as above really but, I've heard the animals die and also don't respawn quickly. Are there still a lot of them? I like to PvE fight occasionally, this seems to be the only way to fight in PvE.

 

5.) Whats the PvP like? Unbalanced, etc?

 

6.) Are there qeusts in this game? Or other ways to make money besides trade, loot, selling etc?

 

7.) This might sound like a stupid question but... I've never played a sandbox game, I'm used to games like WoW, GW, Aion, Rift etc. So can you just explain to me what sandbox actually means?

 

8.)We're either going to buy this or Eve, depening on the answer we get from each post. Is this game worth playing yet (so soon after being released) or should we wait a few months before playing and stick with Eve for now?

1. No sword fighting yet, only knives are in, no archery, no mining, yes, you can train wood cutting.

2. Yes, you can and no, you won't.

3. Seems like respawns haven't been turned on yet.

4. There are no animals in the game anymore. Forget PvEing before this is adressed. Moreover, combat system is close to nonexistent.

6. Not really. There are player made quests. They are just an offline way of trading. There are no money in the game.

7. Sandbox is a game in which you can do anything and aren't just told what to do by some epic game quest (sometimes there can still be one, but you won't have to follow it). It's usually a game that gives you a lot more choices of who to be. For example, you can be a weaponcrafter or a fisherman and not fight at all. Usually, crafting is the main source of gear in sandbox games and they are mostly all following a full loot pvp model.

8. Not worth playing yet. Wait for a couple of years, is my guess. Yes, buy EvE, you'll love it a lot more, it's one, if not the most, polished sandbox out there on the mmorpg market.
