April Fool's Joke or "Real" Good News for EU Players?

I had a most interesting surprise in my email inbox today: it was something from SoE stating that to keep competitive with its pricing, it would reduce the montly subscription fee down to 12.99 euros for some of its games, including EQ2.

I would get excited but, I saw that this email was sent out on the 1st of April. Is this an April Fool's joke? It seems impossible that any game company would reduce its subscription fees. The direction I've always seen is the other way: increasing them.

I hope it's real, since I would definitely benefit.

    That would be a mean trick. Most April Fool's things in the games industry are playful, this seems like something that would piss people off more than make them chuckle. Well SOE might chuckle a little.

    Haha, yeah, I was thinking that too. SoE can be sadistic at times.

    Hmm, I can't seem to find out how much I was paying for my subscription before this change, but investigating a little, my sub plan is at 12.99 euros already. So I guess it's not an April Fool's joke. I think in the past though I was paying about 13.99 euros for subs that were posted as $15/month. So a tiny bit cheaper.

     

    Edit - I guess that means I can work an extra espresso at a café once every month image

    Edit2- Oh yeah, I forgot I only got the Live game a month ago. That's why I can't find any of the old price in my payment history. Yep indeed looks like someone needs that espresso image
