I like it because of the other players there and the fact that there is always stuff to do. If I want to do a mission, I pop into RK, if I want to pvp.. it's there..and if I want to hang out with the guild or just explore solo ..its there too. The music is great as well.
Originally posted by Gatorbot AO was the easiest MMORPG for me to get into. I spent weeks trying to figure out Earth and Beyond, Eve Online, or Ashrons Call. But I was up and running with AO in a few days at most.
yeah, I guess everyone's different.
It took me about 6 hours to figure EVE out, but it took me a good month to fully figure out AO

I recently tried the 7-day trial with the Shadowlands XP. I found it to be an okay game with dated graphics. I've heard a lot of complaints about low frame rates, but I didn't see any of this, nor did experience any lag. In terms of gameplay, I found the missions to be a bit repetitive very quickly. On the plus side, AO seemed to have one of the best communities I've seen in the MMO space. People were very helpful to all the newbies.
If I wasn't already 'invested' in DAoC (and a few other games), I may have fallen into this game.
Granted the skill system can be a bit daunting to the new player. Once you learn a Atrox Enforcer has no reason to be raising Mechanical Engineering youre all set.
As far as combat... How difficult is it to place all your attack skills/nanos on the hotbar? And pressing number 0-9 on your keyboard.

If you wait to do something until the last minute, your more efficient since it will only take 1 minute.
