The CC is out of control just like WoW & Warhammer & there is next to no open world pvp because the community prefers to pve.

Its a shame because the potential for open world pvp is there but there's not much incentive & it seems like most of the playerbase is from WoW where they don't do pvp on pvp servers other than arena & battlegrounds.

The rifts themselves are fun but gimmicky & grow tired after a few weeks of doing them. Plus the gear from the rifts is subpar to what you get from the expert dungeons so there's not much reason to do them.

I bought the game because my guild had high hopes for the game but I'm just bored to tears with it. Got the free month when I bought it, then got hacked/bugged & lost all my platinum in game. Trion was nice enough to offer a free 30 days to compensate & returned my currency but I still have about 26 days left on the account & I haven't played the game in almost a week.

Come to Braircliff.. You can world pvp till you're hearts desire.. I'am only lvl 30 and in Scarlet Gorge (i think thats how its spelt) and almost every 5-10mins i'am running into defiants.. I've had battles break out in the middle of questing where a defiant will jump on me when i've got mobs aggro'd then a passing by Guardian will jump in the fray, then another defiant, ect.. It all turns out into one chatoic battle.. At this point in time it's actually hard for me to quest because of how many defiants are all over lol.. I havn't had this good of world pvp since AION.

The changes in the 1.1 patch have taken a lot of wind out of my sails for the game.  I was enjoying playing then bam there are bunch of senseless changes that in most cases no one even requested and make no sense.  Consquently, I don't have a lot of confidence in the process they use for determining what changes should be made and I don't have confidence that a class I invest time in will be basically the same in a month from now.  All I know is that the two callings I liked playing are no longer fun and I'm afraid to level up other callings for fear they will be messed up in a month or two with another stupid patch.

Yes at lower levels you find people to do open world PVP against, at 50 most people are in an instance, or hanging out in the city where its safe, trying to get into an instance.

Only one person has to run to the dungeon, because once someone enters it summons the rest, so you cant even really try to find people on their way to the dungeon.

I played wow for 6 years. many other MMOs. This game is so fun with mixing the different classes. I have a shaman/druid.justicar I'm leveling. So far really fun and they did anice job with quest & classes. Tons of people. Graphics are far better then wow ever could have.

The rifts are pretty cool. they do get slightly boring. but still fun. The control options are beyond wows you can even connect to twitter inside the darn game. It's not a super easy game when you are lvling up. unless you can heal. try avoiding grped mobs. They exented my trial. I still have tons to do been playing like mad since friday. Might buy it. what do I have to loose. runs so dam smooth and plays so good. I will never go back to wow ever again after this game.

GW2 coming so this will fill some time for me.

I still cannot fathom how someone claiming to be bored to death of WoW can be having fun in RIFT.

It's the same freaking game, down to the tiniest little detail..

Never ask this question during the first 3 months after release; You'll only get heavily biased answers.

Assessments get a lot more accurate when the first two quitter waves have passed (30 days + 1 month and maxlevel-boredjoes).

    - As of now, the game is - in design - extremely close to (former) genre flagships, namely WoW, EQ2 and WAR. Not identical, but extremely close.

    - Except the rift invasions (and arguably, as a matter of taste, the gfx design) the game does not feature anything relevantly innovative

So if you could get yourself to play WoW for 9 to 12 months (which must have included raid-gear-grind) you probably will be able to play Rift for this long. Personally, how anyone can really dive into gear-grind for months on end is beyond me, but well, if you're that type of gamer, have fun.

My Ferrari has 4 wheels too, it's very pleasant to drive and I don't find any issue with that, do you?
