Yes i know they can tank also. I wanna heal with the counselor and inquisitor. I think ill tank with a warrior and knight, and trooper. Smuggler im going gunslinger and dw pistols all the way.
As for race/class combos they are trying all kinds of diffrent combos to see how they work right now. So u never know just how many classes twilek will be able to play come launch.
Since twilek jedi are part of the eu and movies id fully expect to see a twilike knight and counselor but never know.

i think it may depend on what kind of head gear knights wear because of the tentacle things they have on their heads(i know there is a proper name for them but it escapes me at this time)
I could have sworn I just read something about them finding out Smugglers were having a rough go at it in game and they were going to buff them. It's one of these articles on the site I believe.
im guessing you are thinking of this from last weeks friday update:
How are we making these decisions?
In addition to working through the feedback from our Game Testing Program, from focus groups and from internal testers, we are relying heavily on metrics gathered from every server to understand and contextualize the feedback we are receiving. We thought we’d share a couple of images from our metrics system – as images are worth a thousand words, after all:
Click the above image for a larger view.
This is a 3D visualization of death locations for one testing group on Ord Mantell.
Click the above image for a larger view.
Here is a movement heatmap and death details for a sub area on Ord Mantell, from an earlier test. This exposed, shall we say ‘survivability issues’ for Smugglers on their class quest at early levels. That’s since been corrected!
We also use these heatmaps to understand the flow of movement through an area, optimize maps and other guidance systems and identify potential locations for special content such as datacrons or unique enemies, which are specifically designed to reward explorers that go off the beaten path.
As well as all these metrics and testing feedback, popular topics from the community (such as the desire for a single saber DPS on the Jedi Knight) are surfaced by the community team and discussed as well. Starting a forum topic is never a guarantee we’ll change the game – but we are listening.
I like how they are not just making a game but also studying their process of "making a game".
It's not just about "let's place some mobs here" or "it would be cool if we did this..." but they seem to actually be studying what they have wrought and making decisions based on where they would like thing to go.

I loved last Friday's update, for the reasons Sovrath posted above.
Class-wise, I've wanted to play an Imperial Agent from the get-go, and that hasn't changed. Advanced class: Operative, I shall bring the heals to those it will benefit my aims to heal *cough*. Hoping to be able to play as a female Rattataki.
After that, female trooper purely for the Jennifer Hale v.o.
Looking at the current incarnation of the poll to end all polls over on the SW:TOR site, I'm picking under-represented class/gender/advanced class options, which is coincidental but may pay off in the long run.
100% Trooper for me. I haven't even been interested in the other classes. Now which line will I take within the Trooper class I don't know. Only playing the game will help me make that decision.
The starter classes only matter between level 1 and level 10.
Then you choose your real, "advanced" class, which will decide about your choices from level 11 to level 50.
Furthermore, each advanced class with get 2 more skilltrees (additional to the one of the starter class) which will give you at least 2 distinctive builds per class.
All in all it currently looks like this:
Jedi Sage / Sith Sorcerer: Healer or DPS
Jedi Shadow / Sith Assassin: Tank or DPS
Jedi Sentinel / Sith Marauder: DPS
Jedi Guardian / Sith Juggernaut: Tank or DPS
Scoundrel / Operative: Healer or DPS
Gunslinger / Sniper: DPS
Commando / Mercenary: Healer or DPS
Vanguard / Powertech: Tank or DPS
So 6 of the 8 adv classes per side have the option to be full healer or full tank. The remaining 2 choices only choose between two DPS builds. Anyone who can be full healer or full tank can also choose to skill for a hybrid of DPS with either healer or tank.
So about the thread, my first character will be healer-specced Jedi Sage.

Most realize this but I thought I'd make the poll more "simple" since the game is still a ways away and most people aren't even sure their base class, let alone their advanced class. A few people have brought this up though I like the way you broke it down - I'll personally be going with an AC that can perform 2 functions (healing and DPS most likely). I love how they designed the classes and not just the normal run of the mill trinity class structure you get from most MMOs.
I do not choose a class based upon "dps" or "healing" or "tanking". I hate those terms in games as they demean gameplay FOR ME. I just want to play my choosen class and have fun with it and not have to worry about "filling a role". DON'T PIEDGEON HOLE ME!
I agree with you OP, tough choice between Bounty Hunter and Sith Warrior. I used to play a P&P Star Wars game as a force sensative Bounty Hunter who was discovered and corrupted by a Sith Lord, so if BioWare really wanted to give me my ultimate star wars fantasy they'd let me be both. Alas, we don't live in a perfect world, and therefore I'll probably pick up Sith Warrior as my first class.

I keep going towards that class too. Its really a tough choice, they're all awesome in their own way, and Im sure all the stories are well done. I just can't imagine not using a lightsaber and it makes me want to try either the Warrior or Inquistor. Once open beta hits Ill probably end up trying them all for a few levels to get a feel and go from there.

My first char will be a Chiss/Human IA Sniper.
I just know many people's first character is gonna be called Shepard lol
How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.

Mandalorian Bounty Hunter!

Let's party like it is 1863!
I'm going to be a Trooper named Koopa.
Damn, wait. Now someone's going to steal my name
Edit: Gruug, very little pigeon holing in TOR. Depending on how you spec, your class can fill a variety of roles.
Heck yea im gonna play a Bounty Hunter so i can hunt players ! errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr oh yea no pvp bounties, guess im a healer? /golfclap
