That is 110% true! I did that, and opned the box(both sides) my comp worked 110% better.

have no want to get into argument, so after this post i won't be responding to flamers <looks at firemagic>, but anyway, all the issues on the 1st page, just the 1st page.....out of..........................722
you do realize that is a total of about 5 servers effected over 3 days out of 80 servers.
I know it is not perfection but is that really a major deal. I remember playing swg, shadowbane, L2, and eve online and having all of them doing restarts and rollbacks. Again the only game that I never had a rollback in I guess is daoc and wow(for me that is). Rollbacks are a pain and i know it can piss you off like it has. I am just saying that with any game you play on line that there is things that are going to come up that did not get revealed in beta. I played beta and it was flawless. I never played a beta so smooth.
Call me a fanboi or whatever but I am not having these issues on durastan(think that is how it spelled). I hope you all get it straighten out to the point you get to enjoy the game as much as I do.
When the server rolled back did you happen to notice other peoples chat? I wonder if maybe you are going ld for long periods of time and the game is not disconnecting like it should. Just a shot in the dark but who knows.
Kun you do realize that I can goto eq2 and copy and paste several pages of bugs and crashes for that game also. I can also goto any mmo and find the same.
Not really a far judge in my opinion but oh well. Keep enjoying eq2 and posting in wow:)

This has nothing to do with crashing, but if you are going to buy another system for about the same cost as this you can get better. So for those upgrading I would recomend this instead:
CPU: XP 3000+ Barton. It is about 50 more, but you get 400 FSB
Gigabyte is a fine motherboard as long as you are not wanting to OC
1 Gig DDR ram at 400 mhz
Geforce FX 6600GT or 6800. Both of these cards are better than the 5900 model and are cheaper. Each of these models will peform about the same with the 6800 a little ahead and be around the same cost.
SB is fine, but I would not get the 16. Spend a few $ more and get a nicer one that is 7.1 in case you want to get some awsome speakers.
If you have a cablemodem of DSL get a router. You won't be running any software firewall. The router itself will act as a firewall. So unless you have a hacker specifically looking for you there is 0% chance of them getting to you. If you are paranoid spend $20 more and get a nice external firewall built into the router besides the VAT. Hardware=much safer and fewer conflicts/problems.
This is about the same cost, but much better. Of course if you are waiting around for awhile to upgrade then the Athlon 64 and a MB with PCI express is the way to go. PCI express cards are much cheaper, but the CPU costs have not come down to the XP prices yet. But wait for a few more models to come out and those CPU will drop.

i said i wouldn't reply to anyone, but i just want to clarify why i'm posting here, I bought WoW 2nd day, had some fun with it, not like i'd continue it, i may get a 1 month game card and just play it offhand, i think its great for a secondary game because i won't chew through everything in a month, but i honestly don't think it would be good as my main game. And in my mind (notice i said my, so go away Firemagic), i think Eq2 is just better than WoW, but i have my tastes and you have yours
anyway, i just went to the technical support forum on the forums, copy and pasted the first page, thats it, no editing, took me less than 30 seconds, never edited it so all that showed was bugs and problem people have had, just came that way, go see for yourself (forget the address, but i'm sure you know how to get there)

Just because "a few thousand" people have the error, the MAJORITY, do not. So it is by far not blizzards fault. Its like people walking a rope over the grand canyon, sure some people may fall off before they get to the other side, but is that the ropes fault? or the person walking across it?

I would like to know, if it is not the computers problem, why do you always keep crashing why I havent once? I think your just a Fanboy of your 1998 Dell.
All the MMO's I've played none of them have crashed on me. Out of the millions of people playing these different types of MMO's only a handful will experience problems and these problems are normally down to their computers not the servers that companies are running.
