Population?

Hey guys, I just started the trial last night and so far so good, its been the only game that has reminded me of UO (although skill/stat gain seems almost too fast). I also love the forced first person perspective. But I worry about the population of the game... how many people to you guys estimate are playing?

If you are playing, cant you see what the population is like?  Does this mean you are not seeing anyone and are asking if there are people in the higher level areas?

Yea, well I'm just in the starting area and will be for the duration of my trial I'm sure. I only see a few dozen people around 1 of 3 towns. So to me population looks like 100 people EST primetime. But I don't know how accurate that is.

There are more than 3 towns, plus people could be in the wild and at keeps, but I would imagine population is probably relatively low from reading forums.

 I might look again when the "expansion" come out.  I did the free trial when it lauched and I would say the total population was in the low to mid hundreds.  Now, that's characters not players.. and many of the players have multiple accounts going at once, particularly with the free trial.  FYI You can see my account of my time back during the free trial here: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/308348/page/1  

I include screenshots and videos from major towns to document the actual population level experienced since it dramatically differed from the picture some folks were painting prior to the free trial.  My understanding is that the AFK population has risen somewhat since my journey as more folks are using trial accounts to make AFK harvesters and mules.

If you are looking for a somewhat populated city I believe Meduli is your best chance.  You might find a dozen or even 2 dozen people there at primetime, but again... nothing to write home about for the most populated city in an MMO....

Yup I was in Meduli and saw exactly what you mention here, 1 or 2 dozen players around primetime. Nothing to write home about, but then again I've been playing Xsyon and more than 5 people in a 3 mile radius seems better :P

Some "odd" times there are not that many in towns etc which I enjoy! Onfortunately Meduli use to be too crowded so I am thinking of moving back to Fabernum for a while. But we'll see, Need to check the population out there first!
