To summarize, they have fixed a great many of the problems with the same since launch
So combat now works does it? On the official forums there are plenty of people who would disagree with you.
Do guilds now work? Nope, still broken.
Territory control now work? Nope, even the simple system they tried does not work.
I could go on, and indeed I possibly will, but those are 3 core systems.
and it's more stable now than it probably ever has been.
So a year after launch they finally get their server sorted so it doesn't crash multiple times a day? That you praise this, just a sign of how bad the development team for this game is.
The game does still have some bugs, so it's not perfect, and the current UI is pretty functional but ugly. Also, they haven't added a lot of content since the first three months after launch as they stabilized the new build, but new content will be added with the Dawn expansion.
Some bugs? Some? Misunderstatement of the gaming decade. There are very few systems ingame that are not bugged to hell and back.
There's a free trial available, which is probably the best way to find out whether or not you'd like the game, which you can sign up for here.
For the love of god, new players do the trial before buying and judge the game on what it is, not what SV fans say it "might be".
doing the free trial now. Game seems to have a lot of potential, though it also seems to have an EVE like learning curve. I like it a lot more than I ever liked Wow. I will at least play for the 14 days. I have only seen the unstable server problem so far. It is also less than 24 hours in my experience, so I may find what you are talking about. Not the greatest game ever, but I needed a new experience because once again LOTRO is boring me.. that's just because of playing it so much.
There's definitely a learning curve to the game. If you haven't already, watch the videos they link on the launcher when you start the game - they have a lot of good info in them when starting out. Do the starting tasks with the NPCs whereever you start out - you can get some baseline skills that way. If all else fails - pushing the "H" key while playing brings up the in-game guides that have a lot of basic "how-to" info in them.
Glad you got in successfully, and I hope you enjoy your time!

Depends on your system, but sometimes lowering the video settings of the game will stop it from crashing.

Spanish? Which town did you start in?
lowering seemed to work. Fabernum, just now it was all in English tho.

Got it. There is only one server, so you will hear some other languages from time to time, but most seem to use English.
Reminds me of playing Eve before they nerfed the learning experience. Trying t o figure everything out by myself is interesting. I do not want to join a guild until i decide if I want to pay for it. Does have an interesting feel to it. I like how just chopping wood or mining raises skills other than chopping or mining. and stats too.

That is one of the things they've improved - skill learning and gains. A lot of it was tied into learning by books, but a few months ago they changed most of that so there is a lot more learn-by-doing now. Don't have swimming? Just go jump in some water and learn it.
It doesn't take long to get your primary skills up to max, so you can be fairly competitve, or at least surviveable, in short order. Training up all the secondary skills you want can take more time. I believe trials only have 600 skill points to use, but even at 1000 skill points, it doesn't take long.
I also really liked the fact that you have to figure some of the stuff out, and learn where places are without a map, and such. It makes playing the game feel a bit more rewarding in a way that I didn't get from most other games (though EvE did have a lot of that type of feel as well).
MO still has a rough feel and look to it, but all in all I like what it does.

Currently bored with MMO's.
