1. Deep crafting. No more mass-junk creation for leveling. I'd love to see a crafting system that can yeld different items from the same recipe if you use different kind of (example) woods, leathers, irons (Ryzom style).
2. Good looking helmets, that put fear in the hearts of the enemy. I've seen a ton on MMOs, and only 1 or 2 had helmets that looked good.
I'd love to see a dark knight the style of FF11. Something along those lines would be sweet. Also a racing mini game on mounts would be pretty awesome too, someone above posted this.
I'd like in-game books, rare tombs of lore and histories and stories and riddles and apocryphal writings in strange tongues etc... the puzzles/information/riddle/problem-solving stuff that these can contain as well as typical Tyrian humor and so on... eg clues about some crafting combo, rare item or long-dead adventurer's log etc...
Well...I don't know about apochyphal, but Anet has already shown off New Krytan that you can read in game.
I love having the option to just sit and read stuff, and I am glad GW1 gave us the option to do so. GW2 will likely have the same.
as for in game books...I remember reading stuff in Morrowind. I loved it. Its probably not going to happen in GW2...just saying.
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.

Sorry for the offtopic, but I just found this, after google-ing the "New Krytan" (thanks grimm6th). So cool, I think I will loose some hours just translating stuff )
i would love to see some more politics involved with mmos
I definitely would like to see something like this too. It doesn't have to be like a game of thrones but at least something more involved than what we have seen.
Ingame betting system for Guild versus Guild matches.
A money sink. May introduce more players to GvG since they bet and watch the matches through the observer mode.
I would love to see this. In Elder Scrolls Oblivion they had an arena like this, I cannot remember if it was a mod or the base game, where you could bet on the outcomes; I wasted so much money there. It was fun with the mods that made the arena fight more challenging to go in and bet on your character.
I really think this would be a great idea to introduce people and get them excited to play in the GvG. I know that system made me love Oblivion, I just wish I remember if it was a mod or not.
I'd really like to see an option to add a crosshair so I can have the camera move around when I move my mouse (Pretty much like how it's done in Dungeons & Dragons Online).
I always had the right mouse button held down when playing GW1 and it annoyed the crap out of me. Plus if the game has manual attacks (click per attack) it'd be especially badass when using guns since it'd feel like you're playing a third person shooter. I could imagine die hard RPG gamers might hate that concept but hey, I like multiple genre's and it could also attract those outside of the RPG scene. It's win-win.

I would also love to see something like this, but how would ANet keep guilds "taking a fall?" By that I mean, what if a guild goes in to a match and after having guildies bet their guild will lose, the guild then loses on purpose?

It's possible, but the crosshairs couldn't be anything similar to modern shooters. If you are talking about looking through a crosshair to perhaps shoot once with a rifle that's possible but the crosshair would have to go with the gun (no red dots or anything, just a metal crosshair). It would be really tricky to line something like this up because you would have to incorporate it so that it would go along with the kind of weapons and tactics available already. I don't see this going in because the gun videos tell me that it is basically auto-aim. You shoot it you hit it basically.

It's been said (I've not played) that your char's torso slides to look at the current target and that your weapons can be fired and miss if out of range so I believe there is some (as well as moving while casting, right?) of the above gameplay described above *sorta*??
Apart from in-game books (that could lead to a bad end!) the underwater combat has got to be a potential novelty factor with GW2... that could make for some weird stuff, in a good way ; )

I'm a bit hesitant of the underwater combat, because they've said they will eliminate drowning. How do they plan to do that? I'm just hoping that you can't magically just swim underwater and not drown as soon as you create your character. Maybe you can find some sort of underwater breathing device, using asuran technology or something?

There is no breath meter. Its just another area you can go in that happens to have different movement.

The drowning is a bit like the downed mechanic idea or portals for travel: It's all about thinking, umm in RL this would happen but does add to the experience in game necessarily? And probably doesn't hence they (if I rack my brains) said there should be some lore reason for diving deep etc I believe it may have slipped out... (visions of harry potter chowing down some seaweed, like a tasty kebab!).
edit: Perhaps some sort of crafting material/plant for this ie have to eat a certain amount then you can dive under a certain depth would be a useful addition?

They said they did have a consumable that you had to use before you could could underwater indefinitely but they decided to scrap that and just let everyone underwater.
One thing i like to see in GW2 is well something that no other game have had yet
Its Waltz, i know it sounds stupid, but if waltz could be in a game like a minigame or maybe like an emotion you could do with another person it would be so GREAT for the roleplaying community i'm in.
And maybe it could be some kind of minigame you need to push down the arrows at the rigth time to make your person dance on, i know thats so silly, but really I one person in this world would like it Thats the only thing i can come up with xD A silly but a importent thing to me
I first chuckled when I read this, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. /dance with somebody, not just besides them, would be awesome. Make it happen, A-net!
It's definitely doable I would say. The dances they have characters do now in GW1 are fairly simple and I believe a waltz wouldn't be too hard. The only problem I would forsee is the placement of hands. It wouldn't be the same for each character, because of the heighth difference. And I wonder if a Norn would be able to dance with an Asura without anything weird happening.
Well, then maybe they could choose the long suloution (wich I doubt) that each race and race + race got diffrent dances, or maybe they could only make well waltz for humans and some kind of war dance for norns or something. I'm sure a solution is there somewhere, is just have to be found. xD But i still hope thought ;3

Maybe limit the betting to tournament matches only where losing really stings. It is not necessarily a bad thing that the guidls could make money from their reputation. Wrong - maybe, bad - no.
I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been-Wayne Gretzky
better facial animations would be nice, such as the moving of lips and more expression in the eyes and cheeks.
I want to see an underwater dungeon.
I want to see an underwater boss fight.
I want to see what Guild Halls will look like.
And yes I love my visuals, screenshots are good, and videos are even better. More videos and screenshots of gameplay please!
In terms of ocntent I cant really think of much. I would love to see more interactive environments. More so than just objects you can pick up, so thinkgs that break when they take damage, or traps you can set off on yourself or on enemies. Explosive barrels! Falling rocks from ledges, hidden zones behind bookcases and other such shinanigans!
Hmm... a number of things that I was hoping for have already been announced, so this is hard for me to pin down. One thing I hope from a roleplay perspective though is that the warband is important to Charr characters. It's such a great concept for a Charr to have a family (not of blood) like that, that it would be disappointing if it was just a background thing and easily forgotten and considered a throwaway aspect within the context of the game as a whole.
I also hope that we get to pilot some of the vehicles they've been teasing us with in some of the later game dynamic events. They've teased us with tanks, moving fortifications, tugboats, airships, and even helicopters! I can't see myself hopping into a Charr helicopter at any point in the game, but... I can dream, can't I?

We haven't seen a whole lot of the armor in the game but what we have seen does look nice.
http://www.arena.net/blog/designing-humans The helmets in this blog post I believe are just regular armor. The dungeon sets are going to look unique.

A release date.
Also nowhere anywhere did anyone on GW2 staff EVER say there would never be mounts in GW2. All they said is there's no mounts, at the moment.
