A Few Questions Before I Can Find a Home

JimmacJimmac Member UncommonPosts: 1,660

I bought Underfoot and have been messing around trying out different classes. A few problems though have been preventing me from fully immersing and committing myself to the game.

1. Every single time I log into the game, the UI layout has reset itself to the default layout. I'm sure there is a fix for this, but this is super annoying. If I can't ultimately fix this, I won't even bother playing. How do I fix this?

2. Someone on here recommended the Vert ui skin. I did some googling but have yet to find a central website for this UI mod. Does anyone know where I can get the latest, stable version of this UI mod?

3. No one will talk to me. I've asked multiple times in multiple chat rooms "Can anyone read this?" "Is anyone else even playing this game?" "Am I alone here" with no response. I also asked normal questions and also asked if anyone wants to group up. I've yet to see a reply to anything I said, nor even anyone else in game. I don't want to play the progression server. I don't want to play the PVP server or European server. I want to do lower level raids and dungeons. I don't want to do end game content. I want to play on a server where there are active, socialable people. Which server, based on everything I said above, should I pick?

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice or questions answered.

    1. I don't know, you may want to post this question on EQ's newbie zone forum.  There are a lot of helpful people there.

    2. Official Vert Mod.

    3. If you are not looking to do endgame content, where majority of the players are, you will want to find an active guild.  Life is going to be rough on regular servers without an active guild full of people around your level.  Your best bet is probably try to join a progression guild on the regular server, such as this one.  They are one of the few guilds that will do older content and progress through content rather than going straight to endgame.

Otherwise I'd suggest a progression server, where you will truly find the largest amount of people around your level, people that don't care to rush to endgame.

You might try logging into different servers and try talking to people. Some servers are just friendlier and/or more newbie friendly than others.  I know the General channel used to be pretty busy on some of the servers, pretty much all of the time-- I mainly played on Xegony in the day. I am not sure what it's post-merge name is, but it was pretty social, even when I dropped back in for a free return weekend not long ago.

Or you can go to Guild Lobby and talk in say until someone answers you.  And check the guild boards while you're there. :)

(But I don't think you get access to General right away, just the Newbie channel to start, and that one can truly be pretty empty on a lot of servers because there just aren't many, or any, low level players on at that particular time.)

I am not sure if you know about this or not. But if you type in /lfg it will bring up a window and automaticly show your lvl and class, then if you put lfg on, you can get matches of people in your lvl range to send tells to talk to you and group up.

I have found many helpful people doing this and lasting friendships as well.
