So I'm not sure how many people on this site read at all, or are avid readers like myself . That being said I know  there is a general love for fantasy or at least that sense of adventure magic or something along those lines in the majoirty of people. My favorite book series of all time was made into an hbo  original. The book is by George RR Martin. The series is everything a book should be and is considered one of the greatest fantasy novel series of all time. Everyone who has any interest in this should help support this series.. and see an amazing adaptation as well by watching it .  By the way if you read the books let me know what you think, I was pleasantly suprised by how true the pilot was for the most part and the visceral nature of the show .So check out Game of Thrones on HBO.

This show actually looks interesting to me, but I don't have HBO...so I'm out of luck.

When you say "I don't know how many people on this site read...", I assume you mean you don't know how many people choose to read, not whether or not they can read.  When I first read it, it came across as the latter and thought it might be a little insulting.  Then I realized you meant the former.

Yes I meant reading  for fun/entertainment of course. I was not insulting anyone. And  the books are amazing if you like historical, fantasy, intrigue,sci-fi you should definetly give them a shot.

The first episode was a bit slow, lots of characters to introduce. Still, pretty good and it will build up momentum quickly : )

    I wasn't really impressed.

I was impressed that I wasn't horribly disappointed though.

Thanks for writing this. I was trying to figure out how to tell my feelings and you covered them exactly.

Only two episodes in and I am hooked! Yes, I read the books and am a fan (several years ago), but I go into it with no real preconceptions. They have just done an outstanding job on all fronts with this. This it truly television at it's pinnacle, the production on all fronts, the casting and acting is superb (even the kids), it's just perfect. It's one of those shows that you sit the for an hour watching it enthralled and it feels like it's only been 10 minutes. You feel like you could sit and watch it for hours on end and are left desperately wanting more...  If there is any way that you can catch this I highly recommend it. It's certainly worth subscribing to HBO for IMO.

I am liking it thus far. It is dramatically better than Camelot. Here is to hoping it picks up steam here in the next couple of episdoes, because it currently feels a bit spread out.

my thoughts exactly and i to have read the books. the acting is superb, and ive always enjoyed sean beans work. its rare that the acting and the visual concepts of martin's fantasy world are blended together so well. hbogo is a great site to watch the episodes since it gives details on specific scenes that provide more insight. the director timothy patten also directed certain segments of "The Pacific" which i enjoyed immensely.

It's getting pretty boring. Watching the 3rd Episode on DVR right now, and it can't keep my attention. It's pretty boring and slow.

At least it's still a hell of alot better than Camelot.

I'm the opposite.  Three episodes deep and this show has me hooked.  The drama and character interaction, as well as the acting and set/production quality all comes together.

I am not sure if I like it as much as Rome, as that was my favorite series ever, but it's on its way.
