Well I tested beta of lineage2 and I didnt like it much.

I played the retail release of CoH and loved it for about 10 hours then got extremly board and never played it again.

So far, I have played GW's E 3, world event and one beta, I keep finding myself turning it off...  Well im only turning it off because I think its SOOO dam good that I dont want to play it now and spoil the final release version.  Dam I love this game and I and with the jan 7 beta Im only allowing myself 1 hour of playing time.   No more then just a taste.  I can see myself playing this for along time.

I haven't played Lineage 2 yet so I won't comment on it, but CoH, I just got my CGW(computer gaming world magazine)Feb 2005 Saturday and there's an article that say's Marvel is sueing CoH because people are making likness of their Superhero's in the game. It was bound to happen, you can't do much in superhero game's with out Marvel and DC keeping you under the radar.

But I think GW could be a popular game but we'll see when the final out.

I have heard rumors that the lawsuit came out because Marvel and/or DC are looking to make their own MMOG with their super heros.  There wasn't a lot of detail, as it is just speculation I've read on a few other posting boards.  Nothing official about it from Marvel of DC.  But that would make sense.  The CoH game does allow you to make players that do vaguely resemble various toons like Wolverine and others.  If the were looking to make their own MMOG, they wouldn't want someone taking their chars or they have nothing to market with.  Like I said, it's just speculation and hearsay rumors.

I personally think GW is probably the best MMOG I have played.  My favorite MMOG up until GW was Asheron's Call, but GW is in a league of it's own.  I have cancelled all my other accounts to play GW, namely because of price, and mostly because it's quite an addictive and fun game.  And that is just what we have seen in the beta weekends.  And The GW website mentions that they only focus on certain areas of content at a time in each beta weekend.  I can't wait to see the whole package.

Copied right from their site (the very bottom of link):

    Beta Weekend Events:

We feel that the optimum balance in the use of development resources and in increasing the preorder package game exposure will be derived by having Beta Events on a regular basis. Scheduled for the first weekend of each month, each 48-hour period will focus on a new experience in the game such as new regions, new missions, new monsters, and new game mechanics. The preorder package will provide an exclusive Beta Event access code as well as a pass code for one friend to participate in one of the events. This combination allows us to minimize development interruption, to reduce support costs and yet still provide additional game exposure for passionate fans who want to experience the evolution of the game in the beta development process.

This also explains why some of the people testing have complained that they are only seeing a small part of the game.  That is what they intend to do.  They are working on a chunk of the game at a time to ensure it all works out as they intend.

Well, according to http://www.mmogchart.com/, there is a very low chance that Guild Wars and most other mmorpgs will surpass the player population of Lineage and Lineage 2.  There is just no way.  Until the koreans realize the retarded and crappy game that Lineage is, we shouldn't expect Guild Wars to beat them (Lineage population) in numbers.

The problem that I noticed with GW is that I think, there are only 20 lvls.  Correct me if im wrong but if this game has only 20 lvls and Ive done 15-20, and that just took a matter of hours.  So for this game to be a long term game like many mmorpg's I think i think it will be a little lacking.

Dont get me wrong, this game will be great, but I think for it to be a huge hit longer term character development would be helpful.

i personally think the 20 lvl cap is genious..especially for a PvP heavy game...if cap was say 50 or 60 then they would need many separate tournaments with lvl restrictions and that can be a pain..besides GW isnt based on traditional MMO features...like horrible experience grind to get higher lvls..i used to play EQ and lemme tell u waiting hours for a group,,,then spending more hours killing dozens of mobs then group dissolves and have to wait more hours for another group...its not exactly my idea of fun.they took that into great consideration when making GW.

(P.S. GW beats lineage 2 any day.i cant stand the horrible way theyre characters have a 90 degree angle at the mid section..its like every player has severe back problems or somthing image

A pair of Alpha guilds had an 81 minute 8v8 fight last week. People are used to grind, but it's not gonna take long for word of that kind of unadulterated mayhem to spread. And it wasn't that long because of some glitch, mind you. It was pure, lag-free back-and-forth combat between 16 players and some NPCs.

Yeah, this game's gonna own. And own.

One of the first beta weekends, my guild and I played a 90 minute guild battle. Was a ton of fun. My guild lost, but we only had 3 humans and 4 henchie, vs. a full human team. We had to use some great teamwork to hold the other team off, was tons of fun. :) Some said in another thread that the game doesn't really start until you reach level 20, its true. The game isnt' about the leveling, its about balance and having fun. You can't have a successful PvP in an MMO if there's a lot of people with a High level, and a lot with a low level. It just won't work well. As I said, its all about balance. I think most people that don't like the level 20 cap just haven't played the game. Test the game out before you start throwing stones. Your opinion won't mean a thing otherwise.
