Great new interview

http://www.gamingnexus.com/Article/The-Secret-World-Interview/Item3038.aspx

"In fact, with our investigation missions, players will have to go outside the game in order to solve intriguing puzzles based on real history, myth, legends, conspiracy theories, and they'll also need to cooperate with other players via forums or chat in order to basically solve these really deep and complex ARG style problems. Some missions are designed to take weeks to crack, even with the help of the entire community."

Not to be crude, but reading this excited me in ways that might be innapropriate for me to divulge...

Yah, yah, "Funcom sucks! I'll never play!".  They really seem to be doing it right this time, there seems to be real innovation here.

There track record says very loudly " Let the Buyer Beware " they  are very good at hype and not so good with the finished product.

As excited about this game as I am, I expect the above quote to mean "Players will alt-tab to tswbritannica.com for the solution after the extremely knowledgable players on the subject have collaborated".

Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug.

We shall have to see.  Given FC's record in general, I am apprehensive... however... given the lead designer's track record as well as the amount of time invested in this game so far, I am much more optimistic.  Remember TSW began development before AoC... more dev time is always good.  I just hope they don't rush the game to release it...

Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

I think there will be competition to be the "First" to figure some things out, and I do think there are those (myself included) who would hold the information close and not just hand it out... keep it within the guild, within the faction.

Again from the article "we’re about to go into our first Beta phase"... It's been in developement for a while, Beta activity is a great sign!

About the interview, Im glad it was by Ragnar Tornquist, a man with a solid reputation. After years of seeing the same old game repeated to death its nice to see they are going for something completely different this time round, my only concern at this point is regarding the 'powers' I hope they are not all combat powers and actually have other useful social and crafting elements to them, I dont want to be a fire breathing, sword wielding, hero who just happens to have a fist of death (well ok maybe alittle bit) but I want a character thats useful and exciting to play without feeling all i am is rambo in jeans.

That being said, I want the above more than i would ever want another level to 50-60-70-80? kind of game. I will support any game right now that has no levels.

The idea of no levels is very appealing to me.. Generally, when I hit "max" that means its time for an Alt or perhaps a new game...
