Yes I prefer mounts for local travel + limited teleporting or limited public transport for great distances, but not flying mounts. Explained why in another thread:
- More immersion
- Being in control
- Long term incentives to look forward to and work on
- Realistic way to get around
- Makes the world feel larger, realistic and 'whole'.
But I think GW2's world could be set up in such a way that it doesn't support mounts so easily.
GW1 had this concept of having to wade through the blood of many enemies to get to the next civil area and discover it for future teleporting, GW2's world might feature the same kind of 'world - progression' concept and that doesn't support mounts so much: even the roads are not safe and you'd be pulled off your mount every few yards or so.
Indeed! Also factor in dynamic events, and consider that what's going on in an area may change whether you'll see human guards patrolling a road or centaur guars, charr patrols or ogre bands, etc. So where one road may be safe the first time you travel along it, with guards dealing with your problems for you, it could be bereft of patrols the next time you travel it.
I want to teleport all over the place. Mounts will not be in this game. Can you please stop crying. It's a designer's decision.
I am pretty sure that people who didn't like GW1 will not like GW2 in the end. People want grind, stupid time sinks, imbalanced combat and pvp, some twisted form of second life (lol) and all that crap. GW2 will not offer any of this.

to OP . please put more thoughts into your polls. Provide more options. Thats a way to be respectfull about other peoples oppinions to make a poll that can capture more kind of feedback, than your black and white , yes or no point of view!
since there will be lots of portals used through the map.. that reduces the exploring interests of players, so since GW2 already planned on doing it... why not add mounts? even flying mounts i should say.... at least is more fun that opening map and teleporting everwhere without actually moving ourselves through the areas
Nah. If you're an explorer, you're going to explore. No one is forcing you to 'port around, and I for one, will be happily hoofing it across the landscape, turning over every rock, shaking every shrub and climbing every tree. And for those who would rather just get on to the next event, portals are an option. No one will be forced to do one or another. How we approach the world and move through it is our choice to make.
I want mounts, not to avoid exploring but just to do it in style. They're just fluff to me and there's no such thing as enough fluff. And because they're fluff, they're also not a priority.
We have a long thread on the front page already discussing mounts, and this one seems more about the limited poll options than real discussion. Locking the thread. Please continue the mounts discussion in the open thread.

The game is laid out so that the added speed of a mount is not nessasary. And I really like that feature.

It seems to me the OP just wants to start something with a misleading poll like this.

This is a biased, one-sided poll, that I would consider trolling.
I do NOT want mounts in this game. I want to walk, and use the teleports. Sadly, there is no option for me in the poll.
I'm gonna go beat a dog now.
i would throw teleports and fast travels in a deep well and keep em there since they destroy the world.
why bother to design maps when people can teleport and fast travel everywhere without any problem?
just design quest areas where you can simply just teleport do your shit and go home.
i voted for mounts since im against fast travelling and teleporting.
and dudes n gals this is my opinion and i already apologize if i hurt your gw1 fanboygirlish opinion.
cheers
