Buying a new ring.

So I am planning on buying a new ring and have come across various metals and such. I would like to know (those of you who have rings or are planning on buying rings) what type of metal/material did you choose for the makeup of your ring. Also, if you have pictures of your rings that would be really nice. What are the pros and cons of the various metals in your opinion and things like that. It's just going to be a standard ring on the right ring finger, not a wedding ring or anything like that. If anyone needed an extra reference for styling.

So far I am thinking Tungsten Carbide but haven't fully decided yet.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

    Silver.

It's classy, and can kill werewolves.

Honestly, I don't wear rings, just gets in the way. Back when I did, though, it was always thin silver bands. Anything burly just annoys me, and looks really gaudy. Remember when these got kinda popular in the 90s?

Only time I wore a ring was after I moved from a machine operator to a buyer. It was a 10 year service ring with that company. Wearing a ring in an office is not a problem but when working on machinery it's a hazard waiting to drag your hand in.

my wedding band is tungsten.  high polished like glass, hard as hell and nothing scratches it.  Ive ground it onto concrete several times doing oil changes under the car and as hard as I look theres no scratches at all, still looks like high polished glass.

it looks nice too, almost a blue-ish steel/nickel color.  It seems to be pretty popular lately.

If you get a tungsten carbide ring, just know that they're much easier to break than marketing will have you believe.

Personally, I'd take Platinum rings since the shine doesn't dull like Silver. Second best choice for me is Titanium, since it looks manly like stainless steel.

Though I admit my college graduation ring is in white gold. :P
