"A little bit of PR, a little bit of RP, and a smidgen of ADD. Mix them all together and you get me...

I met an interesting fellow last night while getting our ***** handed to us in Scion. It got me to thinking a little about our server, it's guilds and it's residents. We all know that MMO's bring together lot's of different people with lots of different personality's and lots of different ideas of what fun is and is not. It's normal. It's also normal for almost all these people to desire a place to call home. Some want large guilds with a specific goal in mind ( end game raiding, PvP, Rifting, whatever) some are looking for smaller guilds. Some don't know what they want. That's all fine.

Our guild, Prime, is very small. Tiny even. It's what we all wanted and our newer members are also looking for the same thing when they join up. That's great, we get along great, we all joke and laugh together and even though I have only known some of these people for a relatively short amount of time, many of them feel like old pals.

The problem we seem to be facing is that when you have a small guild, there are definite drawbacks. We are starting to experience the largest of them now. Members of Prime want to do instances, players want to do expert rifts, and some want to do PvP (me) when you are rocking a small roster like Prime, people need to decide between these things to accomplish just one, if at all. This means sacrificing has to be done by someone. I don't mind sacrifice, but I do not enjoy myself when someone needs to be put out in order for someone else to do something. I understand compromise, and team work, as does the rest of Prime. - it's not about that.

What if we could do something else? What if some of the smaller guild began working together to seek out members for runs and pvp and so on. Now, I am not speaking merge. I am speaking about guild working as teams together. I know we can't be the only guild feeling this happen, and I know we can't be the only guild that doesn’t want to merge with another guild for the sake of gear.

Maybe us small guilds can hash something out that will allow us to pool resources while still holding onto a little independence?

Organized PvP
Organizing runs across guilds
Raids
Rifts
Crafting

I think it sounds plausible.

Let's chat it out some and see what we can come up with. I look forward to hearing from anyone with feedback.

Prime has a small Guild Launch site we hardly use ( see sig), We would be more than happy to share this resource to help enable better communication and organization between everyone. Figured I would just put that out there."

food for thought: I play anoyther game - lotro.  On the server I am on one kinship started a chat channel and then formed an alliance of other kins who use the channel for everything from convesation to looking for groups to getting or passing information on the game.  Not sure if Rift allows user channels but if it does why not do that? It is simple and it does work.  My opinion.

    Currently bored with MMO's.

rift is still new, not a lot of player cohesion yet, most likely.
