Ok which server should I pick??

Hi folks,

I'm caving in and coming back into game.  My existing chars are on Halgar (which I hear is dead now) which isn't much of a prob if I can get a transfer.  I also read there are only 2 servers now.  Does that mean there is 1x US and 1x EU?

So:-

1. Is Halgar dead?

2. Should I re-roll/get transfer's to the US server?

Just looking for confirmation as the info I have been reading is fairly old so need an update on the state of things.

I'm a UK player if that matters to anyone.

I used to play on halgar back in the day, but now I play on the other one. Luckily it seems to be pretty active even if I'm eu timezone. Not sure how halgar is doing these days, but you shouldn't have any problem on the us on.

I think there are only two servers and your characters were move to the appropriate one during the merge.

I haven't heard of any in like a year.  I really like this game, but playing an MMO with few players and no updates is asking to be disappointed.

I has in the past but not regularly. I dont' think it's had an update in a long time.

Having said that, unless you are an old veteran who has spent a lot of time in the game I don't believe you will see and do everything that there is to see and do for a while.

The game world is really quite large.

Look up twilight something in the guild panel, I just joined them. And there has been 15++ members online everytime I have been on, and im from Europe!

Thanks for your feedback folks.

Its all a mute point while SOE have killed all their services after the recent attack.  I cant even download the game, let alone log in right now.

Hopefully they will open everything back up this week.

There is so much content already in place you won't have to worry about running out of "fun" things to do for a very long time!

VG is never going to get any new content updates. For those playing who have yet to see it all, great, have at it. If you are concerned about the game being shut down, SOE so far seems to be leaning towards, they'll leave the servers up as long as they don't have to put any development effort into it. In other words, play through the existing content, it's great, but don't expect VG to have a future. Eventually, the player population will die off and that will be the end of that, as they say.

 I agree.  None of us know what's going on in their collective corporate head's.  There are reasons the games been put out to pasture, but the reasons for doing so can easily change.

I have a sneaky suspicion that a lot of the systems and mechanics in VG are going to be used in the upcoming EQ-Next, along with stuff from the original EQ.  If this is the case, then I fear for VG's existence when it launches.

But, on the flip side, if EQ-Next turns out to be the child of EQ and VG, THAT could be one hell of a game where we can all call home for a very long time.

I have my fingers crossed folks, all is not lost.

Yeah that would be insanly cool, but I'm not really holding my breath, I doubt we'll see anything like vg ever again

Maybe in 10-20 years, but in the near future, no not really.

Halgar is dead,it really is a no mans land. I and many others moved over to Telon when it first went live,the server is okay with plenty of players for a noob. You will have to start a new toon because your transfer will take a while especially with the latest problems.

I moved all my top level toons over so i have four 55s on Telon.
