Funny how a few hours after I debunked the entire notion of it being the hardware, they concocted another reason for it to be broken. LOL

Bah you know what the excuse will be in the end : Henrik will blame Epic.

I am eagerly awaiting that point too. It's almost like a comedic flowchart... "Do we know what's wrong? No. Do we know how to figure out what's wrong? No. Do we have somebody to blame? Yes. Blame them."

Well.. I don't know about that but he did mention Epic in his post:

But I can assure you all we are doing our best and we got very experienced people working on the issue both within our server host provider and from Epic Games working with us on this issue.

No further updates as of this time.

I had posted a moderately funny comment about this "issue" SV is having, but one of those people reported me, so the post ended up getting deleted, a warning was dealt and random SV forum board readers missed out on a few needed laughs.

When SV themselves give the amateur comedians so much material to work with, I dunno why anyone would take offense to jokes made with said materials.

Its like a tool who personally paints a bull's-eye on his head and shouts out to everyone, "KICK ME, KICK ME, RIGHT ON THE MARK CHUMS" and when someone does kick him, he threatens to sue.

@topic: So whats more pathetic, SV having no clue to diagnose the real problem or SV issuing multiple statements on what they think might be wrong? In order to side with the fanbois this time, Im going to pick whichever reason makes SV look Less incompetent. image

"Epic Games working with us on this issue" = Henrik preparing the blame on Epic imo.

Well written, I don't think I could have said it better myself, thank you.

We are still working here almost day and night to solve the issue we have. Please bare with us, its been taking some time for us to build a special debug client to be able to get the data we need to be able to figure this out, since we havent changed anything the passt months its not easy to find minor changes around the prediction system that got affected.

If you want this thread to remain open, and for the CEO of the company to continue to drop in here to update everyone almost daily on what is going on, please behave in a civil fashion. Stop with the "One Liners" outright Trolling, and anything else that might fall under a "trollface.gif", if people insist on continuing, this thread will be close and disciplinary actions will be taken.

I understand that all of this is frustrating, however we are working on it every day, even over the weekends, all of team is focusing on fixing this issue.

We have indeed finally fixed the rubberband issue. Oh my, strange things can happen, we have worked so hard, so many hours without any rest going crazy on whats going on here. Like you all know, going from good movement to this very bad constant rubberbanding without any changes at all in hardware nor software.

We identified the issue that was increasing the movement package data which caused this issue when the package got over a certain range. Now this is solved and we can see even slightly better movement than we ever had due to much more optimized movement data. We have 1 more small optimization left to do in this area, we are not sure if it will be noticable but after that it wont get much better than that, software wise we believe. We can see that most players have excelent refresh rate on the movement and that everyones position is very accurate now which is great for pvp.

Like some people said here, we have some things left, not related to the issue we solved though. 1. Stuck on players head, we know this happens we will try to fix this for dawn as well. 2. Players dissapearing when they get loaded is a known bug that happend before as well, prediction has not been initiated and acts like this, a relog can fix this if it doesnt solves after a short moment ingame. This will most likely also be fixed in Dawn with a forced initiate movement.

The entire team is now fully focusing on Dawn again, we are a bit off schedule on the release but we are hoping to be ready soon, we will keep you updated on this. We have a long test run starting tomorrow in our "release" content Dawn build depending on how that works we will know when we are ready. I also think and hope that Opal will be able to get to fraps some stuff while we do this test phase so we can share some insight of Dawn.

Thank you all for you patience and feedback in this thread that been most helpful for us.

It's probably unlikely that the expansion will be out next week, given the time and effort spent on correcting the server issue.

They are running a major test today that should help determine what the status of Dawn is, so hopefully more news on Dawn's launch will be forthcoming soon.

I know it's common sense, but it bears repeating:  they should launch it when it's ready, and not before.  If it needs to be delayed, delay it.  We all want a solid launch, right?

I do have to ask something of a silly question here... how many times have they fixed rubberbanding, only for it to return?

I don't expect that the rubberbanding delay would push back the release of the dawn expansion more than a couple weeks.  As long as they don't find any major bugs we could get the Dawn Expansion in a week or less.

Also since the rubberbanding has been fixed that this thread is floating off topic can we put a lock on it?

Back in January and February they concentrated on refining the combat, which they were successful in doing.

Combat in MO has actually been very good since that time, up until the beginning of last week.  With the fix yesterday, combat performance is probably even a little better than it was before the problem arose - which is to say it's very good.

For people who's information is limited to what they can read in a forum, it's often difficult to determine when something has been fixed or changed for the better.  Problems are complained about, fixes and improvements aren't.

It is also difficult to see when a game is getting better if the only thing you are willing to believe is that it sucks.

    Have an open mind people...

Agreed.  The rubberbanding existed for 11 days.  The early part of that they were not pulling people from DAWN to fix it.. so the DAWN impact is really about one week (let's be honest.. not everyone was pulled to work on the rubberbanding either..)  So it seems likely that we should see DAWN launch next week.. maybe Friday.. or at worst the following Monday.

They gave a general timeframe to begin with, which was still an estimate.  The server issue likely did set them back, but is actually of no consequence.

Ultimately, Dawn should launch when it's ready.  Not before.

Of course.. we are simply talking about the impact of the server issue.. which is about a week.  Prior to that we had no word it would be delayed.. so there is nothing to indicate they were behind schedule... so therefore.. as Username said.. we should see DAWN next week.  My bet is Friday or the following Monday at the latest.  They already told us that they had everything that was announced fully functional.. no placeholders.. and bug free.   That's what we are all looking forward to.

I'll take that bet.  When this very thread has a quote of the CEO saying the expansion was pushed back a bit, I'm sure no one's gonna honestly believe the patch will come as quickly as you keep telling people it will.  And unless this is their first MMO, no one's gonna expect an expansion to be bug-free :)

If you're serious about the bet though, PM me.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with that particular figure of speech.  When used as it was in my quote it means the same as "my guess".  Did you expect to bet e-money or something?

As far as bug free I can only go by what STARVAULT has claimed.   Everything announced is fully funictional and just being polished a bit.  No more incomplete and placeholder systems.  This will be a great day for those of us who follow Mortal Online!

meh, I was thinking paypal.  ... I'll take that as a no, you won't take that bet.  Fair enough.  It still won't be next week, and it will still have some bugs.  Again, henrik on his most optimistic day wouldn't disagree with either of those statements, and it's his job to sell the game ;)

I bet 200 paypal dollaz, that MO won't have even 5% of WoW's subscribers 2 weeks after mighty DAWN comes. I guess you won't take that bet either, right? I thought it was viral marketing's job to sell the game, not Henrik's.

I bet 200 paypal dollaz, that MO won't have even 5% of WoW's subscribers 2 weeks after mighty DAWN comes. I guess you won't take that bet either, right? I thought it was viral marketing's job to sell the game, not Henrik's.

That would be a pretty safe bet. 5% of WoW's subscribers would be 570,000 give or take. There aren't a whole lot of MMOs that have ever attained that subscriber level.

I guess I could've gone for 1% instead of 5%. But, hey, better to be safe than sorry. I'd be amazed if MO even got up to 5700 subs.
