I played on minimum settings in beta and the game looks kind of like crap.  But still better then most games.  But playing on mimum settings is like a graphical clusterbomb,  some things wont work properly and you get all kinds of weird things happening.

If you have a 9800 or a 6600 you could probably get away with low-medium settings.   It probably would look normal.

I used a geforce 3 in beta.  I now have a newer video card (I was only a beta tester I dont play EQ2 currently so I cant comment on how good a newer video card works).

The 6600gt is better for EQ2. It was the card I chose and the game looks fantastic. My friend has a 9800 and while it's no slouch, it just isn't as good as the gt.

here is a screenshot of the game on extreme performance (lowest possible setting). here is one on very high performance (one step up from lowest). here is a shot on high performance (the third setting), and here is one on the highest possible settings which is extreme (i didnt post the ones in between, balanced, high quality, and very high quality, cuz i got tired of linking )::::28:: hope this helps. if you get the 6600GT you should be able to run at balanced or high quality with no problems, and dont forget everything is customizable those are only preset standards.

Think of your favorate Nintendo 64 game. The graphics of that N64 game are the graphics of EQII on extreme performance. Most people have custom settings on their graphics, so everyone is different.

my advice: find a setting you can run the game acceptably, not great, but acceptable (performance wise, not graphical), make sure its acceptable, turn it down one, then tweak it like hell, it will give you alot of le-way on what you can do, and once you get it good it looks rather nice according to how you've done it.  Most people i know have done it that way.  (real-life people that is)
