Can't play A.V.A with XP?

Hey everyone,
I've been having a problem with my computer and AVA(alliance of valiant arms).. I have both Windows 7 and Windows XP on different hard drives, and with Win7, AVA is just laggy(my laptop is pretty bad). I swapped in the hard drive with XP and tried AVA, I can log in, but if I select a server and connect, i get an error saying "cannot connect to host"... I disabled Windows firewall, even uninstalled both my own firewall and antivirus just to see, and still can't load the servers! There is absolutely NOTHING else on my laptop other than the usual stuff that OS installs come with, so does anyone know the problem?
