From every thing I've seen/heard so far I think it'll be a pretty good game. I would hope they add the ability to chose your companions rather than every one is stuck with the same ones named the same thing based on what class you are. The being a sith and forced to have a light side companion that gets pissed ever time you kill someone sounds odd to me. Other than that pretty pumped. I think this will be the best game we get for a long while. I'll most deff be getting this game when comes out but If I where king of the world this game would have been closer to what swg stopped being after cu though.
You get multiple companions to work with some might be more akin to light sided actions while others might be more wanting to see you unleash your dark side, while others don't care as long as you get the job done.
Think they said that each class could have a min of 3 and max of 10 (meaning some classes may have more companion choices then others)
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Making a thread about this is more or less completely pointless. You're talking about the game having common issues at release....omg that'd be so shocking!
I'd be far, far more shocked if the game released and Bioware somehow managed to sidestep all of those issues. Hell, if they have minor, normal and expected bugs and somehow manage to avoid obscene queue times I'll be shocked.
Besides that, this is the first time I've seen anyone mention even the idea that the game will be released in a flawless state. EA is going to take as much time as they can because they don't want a WAR repeat. That doesn't mean it'll be perfect. No programmer in the world is going to claim to be able to make something this complex and have it be flawless.
It seems a lot of people expect (considering the budget) this game to be just about flawless at release. I just can't see that happening. Maybe because it's never really happened, maybe because I'm a bit of a pessimist on the subject. Things I expect are issues with quests, long waits to enter servers, graphical abnormalities here and there, maybe some crashing, the usual stuff really for both MMO and single-player games.
Anyone else feel this way?
Anyone expecting a flawless launch hasnt been around this genre very long.

I'm not expecting technical problems I'm expecting delays.

Not really IMO, look at what happens when a game launches with issues. I was curious so I figured this is a way to gauge what people are expecting.
Games always get slammed for launching with crashing issues, general bugginess as well as other common launch problems. I've seen it said many times over that "with this budget the game had better be near perfect" (paraphrased), that's what lead to me thinking about this topic.
I also wanted to see what kind of issues people did expect. So no, I don't think this thread was pointless, as it did answer the questions I wanted to ask.

NO not really .... if you are realistic and know Bioware the release will be absolutely fine.
A bit of LAg a few queuing issues in the bigger picture are not an issue at all.

The only thing I am worried about when this game launches is the sheer volume of people that will probably be playing it to check it out. Max'd servers are a definate possibility. It's for that reason that I probably will not be playing the first few days to a week. Give the new-ness a chance to wear off and then things will smooth out. I will still be pre-ordering the game though and most likely getting the Collector's Edition as well.
If this were any other company making this game, I would probably wait several months for the launch bugs to get worked out and then start playing. Thankfully, I have only had good experiences with BioWare releases so far though and I feel I can trust them for this release as well.

Same here, I've always used waiting a few months as a rule to control my purchases as well as my chance of dissatisfaction. Yet with BIoware I do normally chose to buy around launch day, all the way back to MDK2.

Is this a program on a computer? It is? Then there will be bugs. 100% chance of their being bugs. Every single game has some sort of bugs.
I just hope any of the game breaking bugs are fixed. I am more concerned about let's say, balance, then bugs breaking the game.
I wasn't exactly referring to bugs, I'm referring to issues in general which could be anything from launch day down time, to the game being horribly out of balance. In other words do you expect forums to be a positive place to vistit on launch day, or do you think they'll be full of fail threads?

Expect a good game? Definitely, bioware showed signs that they have free creative control over the game
Expect polished game? Very polished(not perfect) Since masses hate bugs that stop them from getting their ego boost and u see them cry on topics like "U RUIN MY FAN, I WANT MY MONEY BACK! HERP DERP"
Expect a balanced game? kinda, i dont expect it too be good at release, but i believe they are going to improve it over time
Of course there will be issues. Of course the whine will be turned to 11. This is so-called "dream game", and, like sex, it's never as good in real life as it is in the dreams.
So threads in the forum will be full of "fail!", no mistake here. "This is just another wow" would be epic, because the basic combat mechanics are actually wow(or any other mmorpg)-like, it's in depth where you find a difference. Of course there will be some "oooopsie daisie" moments with the overall game in the launch because it is impossible to launch the game PERFECTLY free of mistakes. Of course there would be imbalance in PvP between classes because PvP is not something that is the main focus of this game. Of course there would be screams of "whar the end game content, whar?!!", because as far as I can see there is no such in the game. Well, raids, of course, but I'd rather cut my head off than grind for "better gear", so there is no endgame content for me.
So what? Just don't expect "the perfect mmo", and you will not be disappointed. I'll buy the box on launch, will have fun for a month playing through 2-3 storylines (no jedies or siths for me thankyouverymuch hate swords.) and running flashpoints for a couple of times each with hopefully a nice group and then I will cancel, because I don't see anything to subscribe for. Still, that month will be great fun and therefore great success for me, and probably for the game.
At least more success than all the other titles launched in the past, oh, 2 years? 3?

Technical problems I can work with.
I want to own property too
*shrug* TBH, that doesn't really matter. As long as I see progress and considerable parts are playable, I can live with issues at launch.

I would be supremely surprised if there wouldnt be any issues at launch.
