The problem with setting any deadline, even one that is only a tentative guideline of where they hope to be, is that people tend to run with that. It becomes a deadline, even if it originally wasn't intended to be one. News spreads quickly, even if it's incorrectly referenced or out of context. You can't mention anything that resembles a deadline for anything without a growing group of people getting angry if you fail to meet it. I've been on enough message boards and read enough posts to see that the world is changing. It's just better nowadays to not say anything.

I can't be the only one who has noticed that the average intelligence of people that post and play MMO's has dropped substantially. Not to say that everyone has been dumbed down, but it's obvious that our school systems are failing horribly in a lot of cases.

Have to completely disagree with this line of reasoning. It might have worked 20 years ago, but not today.  Posting no information basically angers almost everyone.  Keeping silent as SOE is doing is basically a recipe for disaster.  Most of what is left of  their supporters are going to turn on them before long.  Good luck getting anyone to take a chance on purchasing any of their products in the near future.  I have my doubts that SOE can recover from this.  Can't understand why Sony has not taken any action.  It is almost like they have written off SOE at this point.

SOE has probably been something of a problem child for quite some time now..  It is probably only a matter of time before someone at Sony decides that SOE is probably costing them more in terms of 'image' and also.. financial costs.. than its really worth.. i am wondering if they will scrap SOE and merge it into some newly formed 'department' that also includes PSN.. when it eventually is back online etc. .. hopefully with new 'heads' at the helm..  i think there are a lot of people.. .. who would like to see the back of smedley and co.. and if Sony is going to make a comeback and regain trust etc.. then things like that may be quite important. image

The Vanguard picture doesn't look right. Is it from early beta or something?

I'd like to offer this to any SOE executive.  I'll buy SOE out for a great price, $1!  Best bid you're going to get :)
