Man, this happened to me monday and now today.. 'Cept today the wait is 14mins opposed to 5.. Im telling you, the population on this server is always full.. Invasions NEVER go un-closed.. And ques are barley beyond 5-10mins for Dungeons and quicker for WF's.. That's why it's hard for me to beleive other servers are ghost towns, then again i'm pretty sure Braircliff has the highest population..

Briarcliff and Wolfsbane seem to be really full servers. I don't think people who have put a month+ into their character like to restart very much though.
I started on a different server which is always at medium population and doesn't seem too low at all. I wanted to move to a PvP server though and got on Briarcliff and wow there are people everywhere. Queues for anything aren't long and it's nice to be surrounded by people at all times, in my opinion at least. Some people would not enjoy that as much.

I am on Rocklift and my server is pretty dull on the gaurdian side. I might check out Braircliff, but I honestly dislike waiting in line to play a game I pay for. I guess it is a small price to pay to see people in a game... damn Rocklift and its crappy population.

Honestly before 1.2 i only waited in lines on the weekends (mostly saturday nights.) The waits were usually 5-10mins, i'd use that as a smoke break or something.. It was nothing compared to the first month of launch, i was waiting in 20-30min ques ALL-THE-TIME! Still, i think it's proof that these little "patches" and "updates" Trion is doing is boosting population, as it's wedsday night and the server is chalk full of people.. Then again it is peak time sooo..
But yeah, Braircliff is a good server.. I'am Guardian but there is also PLENTY of defiants (imo they outnumber us in most invasions) but for the most part we seem to work together.. Those that go and PK are pretty much known on both sides.. I've worked with Defiants several times to take out the collosus during invasions.. Sure, a few defiants would go and try and pk me but i'am a paladin so goodluck especially when multiple guildies are healing me..
Yeah, if you can't see i'am very excited about this game..

I would if it wasnt open PVP server and i know what kind of crowd it attracts. For now i think i am stuck on low population server. Don't feel like re rolling so most probably will quit.
I'd say it is more proof they gave out 7 day free trials this week. Same way the population spiked when they gave out free weekends.

Logged on Brircliff is at HIGH pop at 6AM central time here! Can only imagine how it is at prime!
it only takes 3-4 days /played casually to reach 50. If you really pushed it you could probably hit 50 in 2 days /played. It's not even a stretch to imagine he got 50 in 10 days.
My server was initally very full with very long wait times. Pretty dead now. They need to merge and allow transfers. It's nice to see a couple servers are still active, but it's pretty depressing for those on empty servers.
I think i'll come to Braircliff then, im on steampike atm which is at medium pop, but still seems a bit empty.
Yeeeeeees come to braircliff my children! Roll guardians and help us smash these defiants! lol..
Man-oh-man last night i got into some crazy pvp at Iron Pine Peak! I swear every quest hub i went to was camped by atleast 2-3 defiants.. Being that im a warrior *flexes muscles* im just not scared! Love being able to tank so much dmg, heal myself, and if things go bad i can always C/C + mount up and get out of there! lol
Yes, braircliff is a pvp server.. Yes, there's ALWAYS open world pvp going on.. BUT, a lot of the defiants are cool people and willing to work with you on Rifts/Invasion Bosses/ect..
Come to Braircliff, if Trion won't merge servers we'll just do it for them by all going there!

Wolfsbane had a 33 minute queue last night.
That is my average wait for Warfronts
why is that hard to believe? I just rerolled, played no more then 8hrs a day and hit 50 in under 6 days
sadly this reminds me a bit of EQ2 where the dev pretended for ages server mergers was not needed and waited ages.eventually it had 2 mergers.in end AB server there was a total lag fest and some servers were yawn.
same happening on the eu server ,people getting fed up of supposely medium servers where u cannot even get a guild alliance to do 1 raid ,so like me and rest of my guild we primary play on another eu server which is crowded.side effect of course is everyone having that idea,so few servers are becoming overloaded and the dead servers are becoming more and more empty.
i am sure those on crowded servers are not happy to have queues and overcrowding,those from dead servers are not happy to re roll.so why is trion closing their eyes and ears and declaring see no evil talk no evil pretty much .
initally i would say 2 low to low "medium" server mergers would be adequate .from last time i logged into my original server if others are like it ,it will take no less then 3 such server merged to make it playableif not more.its gone that bad .most rerolling now.
Prime time on a Saturday right after a major patch and handing out free 7 day trials and 50 US servers are still on medium. It is pretty clear that some servers are going to need to be merged. Some are amazingly healthy and that is great but they do need to come up with a plan for the lower end population servers instead of just letting them die.
Yeah Aedraxis server is becoming a ghost town too..
whenever I enter a WF everyone is from Briarcliff except me lol...
There's a couple pve servers that are high pops alot of the time,cant think of their names though..
Is there alot of noob griefing on the pvp servers? I hate when people noob camp.I can picture level 50's preying on you all the way up until you hit 50 yourself.
ya theres no hope for briarcliff or wolfsbane. you guys will be fighting queues for a long time. I cant wait to see the queue time during the next event if the queues are a couple hours right now.
Meanwhile if you havnt noticed 2 of the newer servers came up out of nowhere are now higher populated than faeblight.
Galena (followed by crucia). Galena has been holding high pops (no queues yet) at peak times and literally packed full of people due to the head start. I just think its funny that these new servers have a higher load then many of the headstart servers.
so, if you're new and you want to play on a high pop server yet dont like the idea of a 2 hour wait during primetimes check out Galena or Crucia
I've been killed by several lvl 50's.. But theres times i've also worked with groups of Defiants during Rift invasions + bosses without any problem (up until the boss is dropped then its FFA pvp.) Pretty much the griefer's are remembered by most so you can try and stick clear of them, and a lot of them are KIS..
Glad i didn't play last night as i'd hate to wait through a 2hr que lol.. I usually get 5-20min ones.. If i got a 2hr one i guess i'd have to alt+tab and play a few games of SC2 lol.

I'm new to Rift (got it yesterday) and the Whitefall EU server had some ridiculously long queues today. Had to wait 40mins to get in and as soon as I got in I was greeted by a massive zone invasion, which lagged immensely. Got 50,000ms ping at one point. ^_^
Problem is, the games replayability.
Its the same content, one path, to endgame. Endgame involves regrinding old dungeons on expert, granted these dungeons are pretty challanging and decently fun, despite being quite long if your not with a pro group.
Raids on my server consisted of like 4 raid guilds, one on my faction, and we had to pug at least 4-5 people, it was a high pop server. My guild was a sterotypical, jerk wow guild, so i had to endure that just to raid. Everyone just talked sht about everyone else, it was very clique..and extremely demanding and critical in all situation...ok i can play perfection but sometimes i want to try something new or approach a boss slightly diffrently.....a first ive been in a guild like that for a game
Id love to hop on briarcliff, despite hating the fact that i couldnt quickly log off and on again without a queue, a reason i avoided that server, as i playe don it in the betas.
Its not that my server was dead, its just that the entire community was obsessed with the warfront pvp...i had friends that would do it all day every day....i didnt like the warfronts much, it was one of two scenarios, stomp or get stomped, with the very very rare good match.
My character, in pve was locked into one of two support roles for all content, want to try something fun? sorry.."mage go archon for this then chloro for boss please".....awesome.... and pvp...pyro...stand in boring GOS, spam, dont need to use my disables, CC's ect...boring
I had two alts int he 20's...but i could barely manage flying though silverwood, as i was terribly sick of it from beta and my main, gloamwood...im burned out on...do i run the dungeons im grinding on my main on easy...nah boring...so alts werent very appealing, also with the unbalanced classes, i didnt want to endure a changed class potentially, or have it be the FOTM and be part of the horde of players now playing it. Wasnt too interested int he warriors "mash 2 macro buttons and top DPS" style either.
I didnt play wow aside from a month, i just dont think this type of game is my thing. Im not sure i can play a fantasy mmorpg, or a class based mmorpg for a very long time after playing rift for a few months (counting betas)
I was very dissapointed with how their soul system turned out, it didnt add much variety, and a lot of combos went unplayed.
But yeah, at the time, i would have transferd to briarcliff given the oppertunity to, and probably played another month raiding
For some reason, im loving the DOTA style games....thats how pvp should be imo, its complex, difficult to be good, and very entertaining...and im not locked into a single class and playstyle. warfronts though...not very interesting imo.
I think after DW2 and SWTOR get released, things are going to settle down to a few high pop and a lot of dead servers, rift isnt a bad game by any means, it just burns out its replayability with old dungeons on expert for engame, and stale/boring mechanics, and a dissapointing soulsystem that promised tons of variety and endless playstyle yet deliverd few accepted and viable routes. Did i mention i cant stand permanantly unbalanced classes on a rotating schedule?
