General: Sony Restoring Game Services

Sony Online Entertainment has sent out notice that game services have been restored. All games will be restored over the course of the day in a staggered restoration, with virtually all properties back online by day's end.
Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) announced today that restoration of its game services will begin today. The phased restoration will include the return of nearly all of SOE's portfolio of online games, the reinstatement of SOE's game forums and websites, and added functionality to require players to reset their passwords.
As the result of a criminal cyber-attack on the company's network, SOE shut down its game services in order for the company to undertake an investigation and incorporate rigorous enhancements to the overall security of the network infrastructure. SOE worked with several outside respected security firms during the course of implementing significant security measures that strengthen safeguards against unauthorized activity and provide customers with greater protection of their personal information.

It would be nice if they would allow all inactive accounts to be activated for 1 day so you can check to see if you got jacked and to reset passwords.

Firstly, as a Station Account holder in good standing, you will receive 45 days of game time (30 days plus 1 day for each day of the outage) added to your Station Account. This game time applies to any game you have currently or previously activated on your Station Account.
Bascially if you ever activated a game and it was in good standing your gonna get 45 days free for that game.

SOE will also be offering its customers a "Welcome Back" program that includes special game content and services to all registered Station Account holders. As part of this program, players will receive 30 days of additional game time plus one day for each day SOE's services were down. The details of this program are available at www.soe.com/securityupdate/welcomeback.

Apparently you can update, but its still kicking me out of PSN. I was also able to log in to DCUO and patch, but no idea if servers are actually up.
Nice 45 days to SWG, EQ2 and VG:SOH, so yep anyone who has bought an SOE game and registered for it gets this, I haven't been subbed to one in about 4 -5 years. Plus free identity protection.
plus they must be giving this as well, never bought any of these.

Just logged into DCUO, I couldn't get a PvP pop to save my life after about 2 hours. SO I'll be downloading vanguard tonight. I wonder if all my characters are still around
I always wanted to try out vanguard but never eally have before. I mean ive gotten to like lvl 6-8 on free trial before but coulnt stick it out long enough to really try it because of lack of population. In the lower areas probably whole game for that matter but idk. Since i got 45 days along with alot of other people im gonna give it a real shot this time. thnx soe!
PSN is somewhat up now as well, can DL unexpired rentals, use music software, can use netflix and play games online, store is still down.

You could always use Netfix, for some reason. At least I did. Just ignore the password prompts from PSN and bully through to the Netflix menu.
Not everly long ago when they had a paticular storyline in the latest expansion. Accounts that had been inactive for quite a while got some "comeback" freetime and all the expansions up to Sentinel's Fate. As well as a free flying mount.. you had to open up the in game station store menu to claim it but it was "free".
45 days free... I might have to go harvest again. For some reason harvesting in EQ2 relaxes me.
Well It's been a day and a half, and vanguard is still down. As well as the entire account page. (505 internal server error) I'm giving them till the end of the day and then I chargeback my creditcard. What a horrible service. And on top of it they are charging me for gametime while their servers are down. (Since I registered and paid for the game after the suppsoed downtime. And the game is still down, which they lied about.)
To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.
Things were up and running last night, but they seem to be down again as of this morning.
All the account authentication services on soe.com are acting funky and you can't log into your station account. I can't access EQ2 either.
Same, was fine last night and I was able to log about an hour ago, but now... tits up.
