Did we know that GW2 will use the same character customisation engine as Aion.
Also i never read in such clear words that you can find cover for missile weapons behind objects like rocks, trees and buildings.
I tought they said everyone could play on every server they want, tough this interwview clearly says they haven't taken a decision on regio locked servers yet.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

You can do that in all fps type of combat. (fps combat system are called physic engine since they are based on physic laws)
The superiority of that combat engines over the usuall mmo combat engine is obvious to me for many reasons. This cover aspect+ player aiming+ freedom of movemùent is enough to make that type of combat totaly blow any usuall mmo combat system. But since some mmo companies totaly failed to implement fps like engines for close combat (fps is a shooter system right, it doesn't work very well for melee combat), a lot of mmo players seam to say fps like combat in mmo is a fail blabla. Where in fact the technical superiority is just huge compared to normal tab targeting system we have in mmos.

I really hope they let us go wherever whenever. I found in GW1 that the North American areas have a much larger population, especially when I am available to play.
Edit: I cannot type today, it seems.

My best experience in MMO's so far is meeting people from all over the globe and taking time to get to know them and part of their cultures.
They really should allow this for GW2, it would fit in with their open attitude towards MMO gaming...
If servers will become region based it might just tell us that NCsoft has more influence on the development then Arenanet wants us to beleif. Because things like this are so typicall for the Big gaming hosting companies...

It reminds me of when DCUO was getting ready for release and people were asking if the PS3 and PC players would be able to play together, and the response was that it really wasn't up to the dev team.
On top of that, everything is very physics based, so if you’re higher up than someone your projectile will go further. If there is a rock in front of you and someone shoots an arrow at you it’s going to hit the rock. There’s a lot of physics going on there
This is very strong news for combat, good to hear it too.
What can you tell us about the guild features such as moving guilds from one server to another.
This is one of those things we are still developing and we can’t really say anything about it right now. But I want to explain why we can’t talk about this stuff .You develop these things along the way and they change or they never work out the way you thought. It’s the sort of thing where we really want to make sure that anything we talk about the is definitely in the game and is working in a way that we like. Guild features are one of those things that we’re currently working on. We’ve got some exciting stuff planned but we’re just not ready to talk about it quite yet.
Will players be region locked on servers or can US players join EU server etc.
We’re still trying to make decision on this so I can’t say one way or the other yet.
Hmm, it would not surprise me if there is a collision between accessibility and the guild/WvWvW features they are planning. I suspect as development progresses this will inevitably come to a head and the Guild Features/WvWvW considerations will take more weight on this decision. Perhaps there's also a security consideration and general management/language additionally? I'm sure there will be server transfers but I cannot see it being as common as they would like? Personally that's probably for the best in the grand scheme of things??

WTF? No subscription fee?

Someone needs to re-read and edit the mistakes in that interview. Got a bit confusing after a while.
This is not a game.
