I Figured they would have had Global Agenda on this list

I regret to inform mmorpg.com that xsion is a piss poor, non functioning, and content lacking mmo which doesn't belong on the top ten list of anything other than potential works in progress.
I tried the game, paid the 40USD$, dealt witht he glitches for about an hour and asked for a refund I am currently waiting for.
What do all of them have in common ? They all are pretty bad mmos that only "the certain few" love to play.
Well for one thats your opinion, and last time i checked Eve is pretty much the second most popular mmo in America. If you classify that as a select few, i suppose every other mmo besides wow also qualifies.
Eve the 2nd most popular mmo in America ? Alllrighty then! LOL seriously ?
he's quite serious. it's hard to know the exact stats but it's probably pretty close.
Also, while it's hard to know the above, what is easy to know is this little fact:
More people play EVE together than any other MMO ever made - including WoW.

To great extent the reason that SWG "did not meet expectations" of the unwashed masses is specifically because it was more of a general sci-fi game and less of a star warsy fantasy.
SWG was more about setting up automated gun-crafting factories on distant planets than it was about dudes with glowing swords killing dragons. Unfortunately that's not what the unwashed masses wanted. Fortunately for the unwashed masses, SWTOR will give them dudes with glowings swords killing dragons. So SWTOR i would not count as a sci-fi game

Are you sure about that? The SWG I played had most people running around on Tat and Dantoinne chasing beasties with the latest tripple sliced bats or swords.
This is somewhat academic though. I can see why people would consider SW (and SWG by the transitive property) scifi.

Look at the words : Science Fiction. Its basically fantasy with advanced science. But because of the made up advanced science, its a seperate genre.
I agree with others that SWG should be on the list. Its as feature rich as any other MMO, just has crappy PVE groundcombat. But that goes for Fallen Earth and Xsyon too, but they have way less features.

Sheesh people. It's the writer's personal opinion. As stated at the start of the article. It's not the Gospel or anything. Stop acting like he kicked your dog.
Everyone has opinions, and they are usually all different. It's fine to post your own thoughts and lists in response, but what is with the anger?
If your own faith in your personal opinions are so weak that they can only be justified by having the rest of the world agree with you on everything, you need some help.
Next time I'll just write a List called: "Every Game, Ever" and point it here.
As someone stated before, I tried to very clearly state this is just my own personal List (as these always are). But that's not the issue I guess. I apologize if my List caused you any deep cerebral harm, and hereby withdraw all of my remaining "Geek Cred."
In short, chill guys. It's an Editorial column about one man's tastes. Tastes I freely admit will not surely match your own. Feel free to make your lists in the comments, but is the vitriol really needed?
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.
Being a massive fan of Lego I played from the start of the Closed Beta, its fun for a little bit but really only has lasting appeal to those under the age of 10.
9.) Jumpgate
Due credit.
8.) Xsyon Earth 2012: Prelude
Sounds interesting.
7.) Champions Online
The beginning of the end for your list. The game is rubbish, I probably would have put a tale in the desert here.
6.) Pirates of the Burning Sea
Due credit.
Kinda surprised with all the momentum of the Pirates of the Caribean (I enjoyed the first one, the others are ok) series Disney arent launching an MMO alongside the upcoming sequel.
5.) DC Universe Online
Another complete failure but admittedly beter than CO. I probably would have put APB Reloaded here although its not officially out yet, the reworked game actually has open world gameplay now which IMHO makes it an MMO and no longer just an instanced shooter with lobbies.
4.) Anarchy Online
Due Credit. If Funcom ever delivered the promised Graphical update (what is it like 3 years overdue now ?) I think it would enjoy reknewed success.
3.) City of Heroes/Villains
Due Credit, I think if they gave it a reworked game client it could revitalise quite well in a market that seriously lacks a decent super hero MMO with up to date graphics at this time.
2.) Fallen Earth
Due Credit & I loved playing it. What ultimately killed it for me was at the time the requirement to spin the faction wheel to make your character viable for endgame PvP againsto ther people who were spinning the wheel. They have probably fixed it by now but my Friends and I kinda lost interest heading into S3 to start grinding back the other way.
I have to disagree. After the NGE most of the SWG servers turned into total ghost towns. Everyone ended up on one of two servers and the game is a shadow of its former self.

I miss Tabula Rasa.... I miss it so much in fact that I installed it from my collectors edition disk and just tried to connect for old times sake..
I Figured they would have had Global Agenda on this list

If the list had been slightly more similar to the above I would of taken more notice of it tbh
Star Wars is more fantasy than scifi IMO. I may have omitted SWG from the list myself.
Seeing the list makes this camper a bit said. Just goes to show the fixation the business has for orcs and elves.

Atleast Eve is at number one as it should be.
Champions Online though, DCUO, Xsyson, bad calls, fail games.
Top 5 should be Eve at the top, with SWG/AO/Planetsie/CoX fighting for the next 4 spots.

and to those saying SWG isn't scifi, they even list SWG as a scifi in the MMORPG game list.
and Xsyon is horrible its barely a game right now, your hopes and dreams won't make it a good game...some day.
and also agree there was much more deserving for the list like Gloabal Agenda and PO,DC was/is a flop.
I'm disappointed it doesn't have APB:Reloaded!
meh, i like ymy Rf online ^^.
and who ever posted a list with tablu rasa and planetside, i dont think you can even play them anymore, so i would say there good.

Follow me on Twitter if you dare.
To anyone saying SWG is fantasy WTF do you call superheros? how are they any less fantasy than star wars?

1.) EVE Online
Again due credit.
Infact Champions online should have bee replaced by SWG, even after SOE wrecked the game it is still better than CO.
Eve Online is definitely no 1
You missed out some of the best non-fantasy MMO games.
1. Neocron
2. Star Wars : Galaxies
3. Star Trek Online
4. Neocron
I mentioned Neocron twice because I find it baffling that anyone could possibly play the game for over a week and NOT fall madly in love with it,.
Definitely agree with Eve 1 and CoX 3.
good work.
I have to disagree. After the NGE most of the SWG servers turned into total ghost towns. Everyone ended up on one of two servers and the game is a shadow of its former self.
at least you got #1 right
Anarchy Online!!!
God, i wish somebody reinvented game like this again. I would instantly throw all other games away....
