im looking into eq2, and it looks great.  But i never got into the first 1 with all the grind.  is the eq2 the same way?   ive never really got very far into a mmo and my favorite one was honestly everquest online adventures for PS2.  will i be able to get anywhere wiht only an hour, or will i have to play hours on end to get anything accomplished?  So i would appreciate it if anyone could answer these questions and give the opinoins of this game for a beginner mmo player.

I would recommend going to EQ2 main site, read that , see if has what you want by the way of advertising, then do the same for WoW, ect.

Most mmorpg has the "grind" kill, hunt, maim, rape monster X a bazillion times for award Y

To answer your question honestly: Yes EQ2 can be a bit of a grind. Don't expect to make more than 1 level per night after level 10 without some serious time devoted. This is not the game for quick leveling. I will tell you that I have a level 18 Druid, and level 16 Bard (I did a lot of starting a character deleting starting a new one etc. Heck I deleted a level 10 Sorcerer because I saw a hairstyle I liked better) and I have very rarely just gone out hunting for XP. I usually go from one quest to the next, and I'm having a blast.
