Henrick has released more information on canibalism. Apparently you will gain weight if you eat your own corpse!

 Cooking gives new interesting surprices everyday... Today Sebastian and me was playing, I killed sebastian, when he came back he took his own corpse which had a certain weight.. he couldnt resist to taste him self.... and started to eat, he filled is stomach with the carcass which wasnt to good for his health. After that I just had to kill him again, he came back once again and looted his new carcass, now he found something interesting, his new carcass had an increased weight.. thats because he stuffed him self with his previous carcass. so you see we now have weight as well and it works just like it should in real life, pretty cool.. Then I took his head and logged out with it haha. Funny little moments we have at the office, just wanted to share it with you as well. |

Does anyone else find it somewhat pathetic that the post from a "CEO" was riddled with spelling and grammar errors? The reference to "real life" seems out of place as well, since the context is eating one's own corpse after being killed and being respawning.

Star Vault is a Swedish company and in Sweden they speak swedish. Also, it's just a post on the forum. I doubt he have much time to spend checking spelling errors etc ... and for the MO forum user that isn't important. But I know ... small misstakes is huge news on this forum.

I agree. I pound them for a LOT of things, but not for their English since I can't speak a second language myself. Now the whole idea that your second corpse weighed more than your first because you ate yourself being "realistic".. well yeah.. that's something you can poke fun at :-)
DAWN is on the way folks... get outta the way because it's going to turn the industry on it's ears with several revolutionary gameplay elements. This could very well be the death of Themepark games.

thats is if the game doesnt crash ever 4 seconds and gives a blank pop up screen with just the word OK.
That is old news. Game is fixed. Better than ever. Perfect.
And we have been promised a very thoroughly tested expansion.

Even if I ignore the fact that he is pretty much admitting to not knowing how key features in the game's "expansion" seem to work, he wants to go ahead and equate that to real life?
How many people does he know in real life, those who have grown obese over consuming their own corpses?? Is he even Trying to make any sense by saying that? Even if he says this exact statement in swedish, french, chinese or even wookiee-talk, it absolutely wont change the fact that its some pretty disturbing bullshit that he wants to pass off as humour.
It is statements like these that will make me want to never ever play or more importantly never Pay for mortal online. If the game's CEO and his dev(Or is sebastian his wife?) have no freaking clue over how a much hyped upcoming game mechanics works then what guarantee do I have that they got a clue over how anything in their game works?
Also, do you guys notice how this Sebastian doesnt seem to sit down and get any work done? What sort of employee would constantly leave his spot when upcoming game mechanics(food system) is being tested right in front of the CEO?!
Horrible employee is the answer I was looking for. Its a typical day in the office for SV with its funny little moments after all hah!
I was considering trying MO again..until I saw the inabillity for the CEO of Starvault to form a coherent sentence in english. Unless..by some saving grace, this is just someone loosely translating ?

It's amazing that anyone can learn a second language...It's harder then you think, try it before teasing someone with a not so good second language.

Hey geeza don't hold back with your hate for a man you have never met ! Seriously cool down. He was talking about how the game is more realistic as it it follow real world physics and stuff, more realistic as in the opposite of WOW and other EQ clones.
It was a funny post - I guess a lot of you lot here are teenagers or testosterone pumped young men that take themselves and others too seriously.

I wonder since when did Swedish become an international language any respectable CEO should be fluent in.. English however is, and Henrik could really put more effort into at least spellchecking what he writes (It's a simple addon..).
Personally I wouldn't care how fluent a CEO's english is as long as I'm enjoying the game his company is making.
And if I'm not enjoying the game his company is making then I couldn't care less about how fluent his english is.
He's the CEO of a game company, judge him on his game ( and from what I hear there's no shortage of things to critisize him on in that department ) not on a few minor spelling errors.

Anyways canibalism is friggen awesome. I can't wait for this. I don't remember any other MMO were you can eat other players, and the only other game I know of with canibalism is Fallout.

Yes, I agree this is a major highligh of the DAWN expansion. It adds much to the game that you just cannot get in Themepark games.

Nah, there's no reason themepark games couldn't have canabilism. It takes a certain amount of balls to have cannabilism, but after sticking with full nudity, cannabilism is par-for-the-course with SV. Also, eating human corpses probably isn't a 'highlight' of the expansion... Cannabilism is just the logical (for SV, anyway) end-result of an open-pvp game and an implemention of a food/hunger system (which is a highlight of dawn IMO).

2) Did you miss the part where different foods have different effects, sometimes with fairly negative results ? If you are going to criticize them for the inclusion of cannibalism, you might want to know the consequences.

Hmm, looks like someone could use a heaping bowl of get-over-it.
Though it is pretty telling when no-one has a problem with killing other people in a game, but eating a digital corpse is off-the-wall-disturbed (not for the character, but for the actual player apparently). Murder is infinitely more destructive then a fucked up diet, and would actually make a bit more sense in your 'testosterone' rant.
