If you look on the GW2 professions page, there is one more profession to go. It seems to be a light armor or cloth wearing profession. Perhaps another type of casting class? What are your thoughts?

Jedi, just to piss us off.
Hard to say, it certainly looks like some kind of cloth caster. I wonder of they will throw a curveball and make it something like druid.

"There are eight professions inGuild Wars 2, many of which will be familiar to fans of Guild Wars, as well as a few professions new to theGuild Wars world. Each of these professions is roughly categorized by the type of armor they wear: scholars wear light armor, adventurers wear medium armor, and soldiers wear heavy armor. Currently there are three scholar professions, three adventurer professions and two soldier professions."
Guardian and Warrior are the 2 heavy armor classes, of course. Necromancer and Elementalist are definitely light armor classes. Engineer looks heavy-medium based on appearance, thief looks medium, and ranger looks light-medium based on all videos I've seen. I'm assuming those 3, despite varying looks, are all medium armor class. That leaves 1 light armor caster left.
Either way, it can really be anything. Of the 2 caster classes thus far, the elementalist looks to be the hardcore nuker, while the necro actually seems to play like a very beefy support class. Of course they both have damage and support abilities, as do all GW2 classes. Yeah..what I'm getting at is who knows? Yeah...
But if I had to guess, I'd go with a combination of the Mesmer and Dervish from GW1, since they've been transposing many GW1 classes. I'm not sure they'd necessarily name it after either one though.
**Edit** I looked at the poster-above-me's sig, and, intersingly, I think the "Mindreaper" would be an apt name for a Mesmer/Dervish combo
It's not just that it's going to be a caster and it's going to be a profession (mostly) from GW1.
It's also that currently Lyssa, one of the tyrian gods, isn't represented in-game.
The Guardian is Dwayna. The Ranger is Melandru. The Warrior is Balthazar. The Necromancer is Grenth. The Elementalist is Dwayna (air), Melandru (earth), Balthazar (fire), Grenth (ice) and Kormir (water). The Engineer could possibly be stretched to represent Kormir, the god of Knowledge.
There's nothing that comes close to fully representing Lyssa, the goddess of beauty and illusions (unless you wish to argue that the very few Energy Storage abilities leftover in the Elementalist are sufficient to represent Lyssa, which I'd find extremely lacking at best ).
The only thing that could slightly throw this reasoning off is that the GW2 wiki lists water as being the domain of Lyssa for some reason even though this has, traditionally, been the domain of Abaddon (sorry, said Grenth here earlier) and would/should have passed on to Kormir. But I guess Gods can change. But even then the other classes all have a full class thats mostly dedicated to them while Lyssa has to settle for 25% of one class.
side-note: I do realise that many of the non-human races have a different attitude towards the Gods, but they're still mayor players even if not divine. It seems as good a basis as anything to speculate on.
EDIT: Fixed some minor errors, been a while since I played GW1.

Because I love you all, I'm going to do this again. The following statements are facts:
--> The last profession is a caster.
--> The last profession is a returning profession from GW1.
--> The last profession will have the same name it had in GW1.
--> The last profession deals with mind tricks.
--> The last profession is complex and a rule-breaker.
--> Fans of the Mesmer will find a home in GW2.
--> The Mesmer is talked about in the first novel and in the second novel actual Mesmers appear (including Queen Jenna, queen of the Humans). In both novels the actual name 'Mesmer' is mentioned.

And to those off you that doesn't pay regard to facts, it means that it is stated by ArenaNet, who is the developer of this game. So can we please just accept the situation that is next and last class to be annouced is the Mesmer.
I can just about guarantee it will be a class that uses negligee for armor, lots of lace, thigh high stiletto boots and an immense amount of stylish flair.
So either Mesmer or prostitute.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

So it is clear that all evidence points to a profession close to GW1's Mesmer.
if its returning from GW i hope it is mesmer or spiritualist. tho why would it be a returning class from GW if we already have archer, necro, warrior, elementalist that are also from GW. anyways if its a unique class from GW then as i said, mesmer or spirit for me

I think I remember reading somewhere that they would be adding expansions to GW2, to open up Cantha and Elona. If that is true, that is why the renamed the "assassin" type to theif, and why they would choose mesmer over a ritualist.
Comments
It is a caster class somewhere along the lines of Mesmer if not "Mesmer". This is practically common knowledge by now.

This is not a game.
I'm hoping for dervish or ritualist.
The mechanics of the ritualist are already handled in their entirety by the Engineer profession, so it won't be a Rit.
My money's still on Mesmer, but perhaps with a different name, like 'Mentalist.'
It's definitely a light armor class. Taken from the GW2 combat page: http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/combat/part-two/

It's not mesmer I think.

... so basically what you're telling us is that the next class is going to be a Druid?

I hate you.
I thought it was pretty obvious though :
COMMANDO of course !!!

It will be a Mesmer.
Well, it BEST be a Mesmer ;P

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
I was still hoping for something else but must admit it will be mesmer..i guess.
when they launched commando, ok, it was obvious its 1st april.
when they launched engineer I thought "OMG WTF, second april?"
if the mesmer makes it to the game ill have third april...
but hey, nvm, still some decent playable classes left ranger and guardian
Well,

Mesmer of course! And I, for one, will be happy to see the back of the Dervish!
