So how did you play your first MMO? (MUDS are okay to list too, but if you do, please also state the first graphical MMO you played)
(not a poll option but also please state how you play MMOs now for compare/contrast)
I started with DAOC. My play was mostly keyboard with mouse to select/interact with objects (opening doors, interacting with NPCs, quests, inventory management, etc. But to attack, use ability, move, pan, select enemy, etc, it was F8, Tab, arrow keys, etc.
Now im mostly in the FPS style. Mouse to move, select, attack, almost everything.
This poll is more for reserach on how/if MMOs have evolved regarding how a player controls their character and interacts with the world.

I played my first one on my PC
You have got to list controllers.
There aren't many mmo's on consoles but they are out there. Once I came to PC MMOs, I brought my XBox controller with me for ffxi.
Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug.
12 Million People have been meter spammed in heroics.
I did forget controllers, but the other option should satisfy that.
Did FPS style controls in the MMOFPSRPG and that was even using arrow keys, way back before wasd became the norm.
Pen and Paper AD&D in college in the fraternity. We would have teams from different fraternities with a third team being the referee's and being the "dungeon masters". Games would last for days! Great fun! Lots of beer and missed classes.
I beta tested this:

back in 1986 on Quantum Link. lol.. ya I know but it really was pretty much the first "mmo" I played. So I would guess I was using an Atari 2600 joystick or I might have had a different one. Tho some things were done with the keyboard.. That beta actually had a lot of people in it and they even had personal housing... waaay back then.
Next MMO I played was Ultima Online and pretty much I just used the keyboard. The pvp required you to think more than say circle strafe blah blah
*edited* to fix link
I played Runescape the only way it CAN be played, with a mouse.
I wished there was WASD controls because clicking to do everything hurts your hand after awhile.
