Tired of looking... mmofps
I've decided to give up my search for a good mmorpg. I guess after 14 years of playing them I've grown tired of the same old thing. Now getting seriously interested in trying my hands at a good mmofps. I've never really been into pvp but lately I'm finding myself wanting to do nothing but pvp. I'd like to try a fps or 3rd person shooter type game. Looking at Crimecraft but I've download around 10 mmo's of one fashion or another over the last month and tired of downloading and not liking them. Any suggestions? I've played Globel Agenda, and while it was fun, it didn't keep my interest. Need suggestions please!

(edit) I'd also like something along the lines of f2p or at least a incredibly indepth trial. Don't want to spend more money if I don't have to.. at least not right away. Thanks!

Hmm.. looks like just another mmo though. Thanks for the suggestion though, will keep an eye on it. I'm downloading APB: Reloaded right now. It looks interesting.
Firefall ain't no typical MMORPG. It's more like co-op, but with a persistent world.
If you want to get past older graphics, the only true MMOFPS on the market is "Planetside", and SOE (Heaven forbid the name) is making a sequel to it these days. Or so we are told, so that is the next upcoming MMOFPS. APB is very fun, but that's a MMOTPS / GTA Online sorta thing, as well as Global Agenda. I almost forgot, Hi-Rez (Creators of Global Agenda), are developing a Tribes IP based MMO. That should make for a great MMOFPS if done right.

Oh god yes I remember just reading about them purchasing the Tribes franchise. That is awesome. I spent many, many hours playing Tribes 2 back in the day. Loved that game!! Hopefully it will be along the same lines as the original. Thanks guys for the suggestions. Think I'm getting hooked on APB at the moment. Downloading Crimecraft as well. Looking forward to playing some Duke Nukem online as well. Hopefully the multiplayer will be fun an interesting. Thanks again!
If you've ever owned a SOE game you can take advantage of the 45 free days they gave to anyone who's ever owned a SOE game due to them getting hacked & all their services being offline. If so, try out DC Universe Online. The combat system is amazing if you're enjoying fps fast paced action. The population is pretty quiet right now but hopefully when they do their superserver thing it'll will pick up a bit.
APB is ok but riddled with hacks & exploits. Firefall looks pretty good & the new Tribes is supposed to be out before the end of this year but I think thats a bit overly optimistic on Hi-Rez's part.
Given that the OP did say he wants mainly PvP, I would sugest Global Agenda. It's not an MMO! That just to be clear.
It has a newly added open zone, but it's quite small, but will probably not be the only one, in the future.
The main thing for the game is Team PvE and Team PvP. It's a shooter, and 3rd person. Pretty much what you wanted.

Darkfall. Unless you hate Ultima Online it is a very unique game compaired to the EQ clones on the market.

Loved UO.. was one of the original players back in '97 or '98. Played it for years. Unfortunatly Darkfall and MO both just don't quite cut it for me. They just don't live up to UO so those aren't an option. I bought MO loooong before it was even playable. Didn't even subscribe after it went live. They are good games but like I said, I'm looking for something completely different. APB is fun but seems extremely repetative doing the exact same things over and over again. Finishing up the install to CrimeCraft right now. I actually didn't do any pvp in Global Agenda. I wanted to but figured being only level 13 I'd just get my ass handed to me. The classes didn't really impress me much either but thanks for the suggestion. I might fire it back up and give PvP a chance.
Are there any extremely well done PvP focused games that are mainly f2p but not pay to win?
I'm willing to purchase a game and sub as long as it has a lengthy trial before I waste yet another 20 to 60 bucks on an MMO. Trust me I've wasted a LOT of money back when I had to try every one of them when they were released.

World of Tanks .
I liked Fallen Earth but couldn't see myself sub'ing to it. I play World of Tanks off and on, a huge grind to get a good tank heh. It's fun though. Okay looks like there's nothing really out there that I haven't tried yet. Anyone know anything about Earthrise? Opinions?
Planetside, Tribes 2, and TF2 would be my recommendations. There are likely to be much better MMOFPS games in the near future, I believe.
