MMORPG Gender Survey

In my AP stat class we have to do surveys and analyze them in a whole bunch of different ways ><

Anyway, my project is to see how many people prefer to create their gender character, or a cross gender character. I mean like if you play an mmorpg do you choose a male or female avatar, regardless of how you behave. I don't want to know the specifics like if you pretend to be a girl in chat rooms or anything creepy stuff like that :p

Please answer truthfully as I don't want my data to be based on made up data.

    I voted "Male playing Female" but I'm probably about 50/50. Thats 50/50 in characters I play, not in actual gender ::::06::

    I find it interesting that some people are freaked out by cross gender players. It's a role play game at the end of the day, you arn't supposed to make a character based on yourself in RL... thats kind of the opposite of the point!

    Of course in AO you have the choice of being an "Atrox" who have no gender, so maybe the poll is flawed.

    "You are a male who plays androgeneus characters (no gender)"

    and

    "You are a female who plays androgynous characters (no gender)"

    How do those of you who are freaked out by cross gender players feel about androgynous characters? ::::17::

    I'm a male that plays male characters about 95% of the time. However, there are times when I will play a female character because either the male characters look stupid and/or the female characters look really cool.

    i use female characters often... for one they look best in all armours and classes...

    for two... i would rather see a women character run around a screen instead of a guy... specially half nude ones -_-

    I'm a girl and only play a girl in games. In most games I don't get bothered, although I remember a bit of it a while back around when AC first came out.

    About 98% time I make male characters. The only time I haven't is on EverQuest II beta because my character was going to get wiped anyways and the female high elves looked hot ::::35::.

    I usually play mages and i like warlocks better than sorceress, plus i like how males get bulky armor instead of a 2 peice made of metal or cloth...now in real life...*trails off in a fantasy*

    The only time i would be a female is once i play the game along time and i become female to marry someone...get presents and such...than transfer them and run. (im not a scammer though...just sneaky)

    Not a big fan of "crossing" so to speak, always play male characters, unless I'm playing a game that forces you to be female for that particular class, then I'll be female. Like Priston Tale for instance, some classes forced you to be female.

    Sometimes I play a male, sometimes female. But mostly female. Why? cuz they are small size and looks cute. I played guild wars, and I prefer to play female in most classes especially the warrior. Must they make the male warrior ONLY Bald....so I picked female XD.

    I'm a guy that mostly plays as Male Characters....
    And even though the Atrox is androgenous.. We all know thats a man....
    regardless if he has a fishing pole or a fishing hole.... or just ice.

    But sometimes it's GREat to play females because of all the Free stuff all the stupid guys give me....

    50/50 too.  I have guy characters, but who can't resist making a girl character, especially if the character design is hot!  What's wrong are the people that say "Yes I'm a girl in RL" but aren't.  Then end up saying the truth once you are married in-game, thinking that they "fell in love" with you cause of who you are and not cause you were a hot chick in game.  It's wrong in all ways, you lied that you're a girl, the guy fell in love with your "girl", not you.

    I think in games where certain classes can only be played by males or females, a LOT of guys play females, cuz theyre usually archersorceress types. N for some reason, a lot of guys like to play archersorceress types (probably cuz theyre overpowered) :X

    Actually, I had a really awkward moment last time I played a guy char. Ill just leave it at that. So if a game doesnt have malefemale for each class I wont play >.<

    I generally have one female character and the rest male.

    I enjoy playing female characters because people generally react very different to female characters than to male characters.
    I often play female when I really want to role play. I find that easier somehow (perhaps because its less close to the truth.)

    If anyone asks me whether I'm male / female IRL I always answer the truth though.. I don't need 13 year old boys typing naughty things to me whilst whacking off behind their keyboard.. truly, I don't ::::03::

    I usually make characters based around the name.

    If the name is masculine, I make a male.
    If it is feminie I make a female (or an male elf...)
