Hey I have my own credit card, bank account and job. Bring on the cash shop!

I never played one before, so just wondering.

Oh yeah, most definitely so.  You really can't pvp unless you are the ultimate grinder or purchase heavily in the item shop.

And sorry to the person above, but Forsaken World is the exact same way because they have weapon enchancers in the cash shop in that game too.

You can buy cash shop currency with in game money other than that, there is in game quests and events where you get materials for enchancer, EVERYTHING except few pets and fashion pixel crack, can be got in game, they basically just sell time in cash shop.

Like I said you can do the heavy grind and buy the stuff in game or just buy through the cash shop, still does not change the pay to win format consistent in all their games.  If you pvp you will NOT like Perfect World games unless you have cash to spend.

I pvp in FW and I'd say 10$ a month gets you everything you'd need and after you're max level you're done.

The utmost neccesities in PWE games cost LESS a month than many games monthly fee

Sorry, but that is complete nonsense.  You can easily spend thousands outfitting one of your characters in PWE games, how is that in any way close to any monthly fee?

Atari never owned STO franchise. The licensing deal is DIRECTLY between CBS and Cryptic.

Atari does not own Champions franchise. Cryptic bought the license long time ago.

Actually once Atari purchased Cryptic, the Star trek licensing deal and Champions I.P. were owned by Atari. Both should be handed over as part of the sale, i would imagine. CBS isn't going to care who has the license, since they actually own the I.P.; they just want to see their cut.

Well... This should certainly be worth watching... ^^ I've played several of PW's games, and they tend to be the usual Asian grind fest. But I do like some of the eye candy. ^^  It will be interesting to see what they do with STO. They certainly can't mess it up any worse than Cryptic managed to.

If you want to be good in their games you need to spent a huge amount of money im talking about thousands of dollars. I played their games 2 years and is all about lottery, the fashion with special abilities, the mounts the flying devices, the gear upgrading, everything is a lottery and gambling with a low chance, even spending 80 dollars is not enough to win first price of their lotto. Is a really expensive "free to play", play for free and dont have anything, pay 2 win are all of this games. And the customer support is really bad. I won a few GM events and never got the promised prizes.

Forsaken World is probably PWI's greatest work yet. It's pretty well done though still could use some tweaks. CO & STO have some new potential under the PWI banner.

Isn't it already headed that way?

Just look at all the ridiculous prices on the junk in the C-Store. They started putting pre-order and collector's edition 'exclusives' in there right after launch, which was a fairly good indication that even Cryptic didn't believe SuckTastic Online had a future as a paid MMO.

Actually I believe that had more to do with Cryptic failing to meet the generated revenue target number, so that they could get the $20 million bonus they negotiated with Atari. Since Cryptic failed to generate the unspecified amount of money (a number Cryptic set themselves) between CO and STO, they needed to find as many ways as they could to try and generate money before the deadline hit.

Therefore you had incidents such as the Enterprise X, where they originally offered it for getting five accounts that paid for the first month (either friends paying for a month, or more often someone buying five copies of the game and paying for a month themselves), and then a short time later they offered it in the Cstore.

Apparently it wasn't enough though, and Cryptic didn't get the bonus.

Perfect World didn't make Torchlight, Runic Games did in 2009. Perfect World just bought a majority share of Runic Games in 2010 so they had nothing to do with the development. No doubt they have bought them in plans for the Torchlight MMORPG. I'm more interested in Torchlight II though.
