It has come to our attention, that some players have come into illegitimate possession of significant amounts of robots, equipment and other commodities. The magnitude of these exploits have helped these players to affect the whole landscape of Perpetuum.
All accounts, equipment, commodities, knowledge bases and NIC in relation to these exploits have been removed from the game. We also have suspended several accounts that we could connect to these illegal activities.
We are certain that from now on Nia will be a much more interesting and rewarding place to be, and are looking forward to a new age in the political landscape of the game.
The exploitable mechanism has been fixed.
We warn all players, that we will deal with such offenders with utmost severity. If anyone has further information regarding the issue, now is the time to come forward and share it with us privately at support@perpetuum-online.com. We will keep pursuing this issue with full effort.[/quote]

I don't play the game, but I think its admirable that the devs are policing their game. Sounds like it took them awhile to find the exploit, but still a job well done. I hear horror stories from other games where players get away with murder.
This is a serious hit to the exploiting corp. The playerbase may see some issues on the market for a bit as the lack of monitary inflation of that magnatude forces a new norm. However, the battlegrounds of Nia should be better in the long run.
Fun times ahead.
Level of interest in excuses by game developers and fanbois as to the terrible state of game development.

The implications of this seem quite far reaching, obviously cheaters need to be banned, that is a given, however
The game seems to have died right now, general chat is dead most of the time, the forum is dead as M2S seem to have removed themselves from the community and whether you liked them or not they were the only people keeping it alive.
The blob led by well known exploiters CIR has effectively created one untouchable powerbloc now in the game.
Clever political manoeuvring by syndic means that norhoop is dead now as an entity, M2S is dead and buried and the small indy corps cant field enough to fight against those odds
This means that any new corporation has to join the blob or remain on Alpha for its entire existance, no chance for small gang pvp except organised events.
Hi Styx!
I love how you try to spin that M2S finally being kicked in the nuts is bad for the game and that it's dying. Get over it, please. You sploited twice on a grand scale and got burned doing it.
As for the "known" exploiters CIR - you're just mad you got outplayed politically. Not even with infinite resources at your disposal could you beat us. Thanks for trying though
And yeah maybe CIR has sploited some in MO, but that's behind us. We actually respect Perpetuum and its Devs and with you gone game can only get better.
See you all on Nia, except Styx, who is banned.
That guy its absolutelly wrong, M2S was breaking the game, economically (twice in fact, see insurance fraud) and politically (who laughs at 12/15 now) the only thing that changed in general chat and oficial forums its the signinficant lowering of trolling; so DEVS did a absolute winwin, banning exloiters its a must in any mmo that caters to mature players (paying to be cheated ,. no ty). Its Dev´s game, no a bunch of cheaters property so gtfo.
Now its the perfect time to join Perpetuum since many small to medium (old and new) corps are starting to get their deserved place so again KUGUTSMAN its lying, as most of Beta territorys are unlcaimed and teleport camping has become too boring. If CIR follows the cheat/exploit path like M2S did, time has proven we have a DEV team capable of dealing with such nuissances. Hopefully this fact will drag more players into the game than those "players" who left because of a butthurt; and definetlly will atract more players that if they had donde nothing fearing of loosing a bunch of subs.
great game, nice comunity, bannhamer rdy, can get any better?
cya all in Nia
I kindly disagree.
If anything, the game is just recovering itself from its loses, the sheer impossibility to put anything against a never ending wave of supplies of the enemy. Which strained every corp involved, as they aktually had to work to compensate their loses. Unlike the exploiting and cheating M2S.
The forum is not dead. It appears that suddenly contributions seem to return to be constructive again. The same goes for general chat. The only thing which has changed is, that you are not constantly trolled, insulted or denunziated anymore.
Norhoop is not dead at all. The NAP of Norhoop and Nova is coming to an end. The NAP was the only logical thing to do, to fight those cheaters. And yes, we have succeeded.
The game feels good again. To know, that your opponent has to work the same hard for his Mech, as you do, is a completly new feeling. The game is just taking a deep breath, for everyone to recover. To rebuild, what M2S has destroyed. A balanced world. With the same chances for everyone.
Either your sources of informations are totally invalid, in this case I would advice, to find yourself a valid source, or your sole ambition, is to spread propaganda.
Which leads me to believe, that you Sir, are either form the butt hurt corp M2S or form their pets of 62nd ex - Ecorp.
Thank you for your time,

Funny how you talk about us exploiting. We're well-known for only one thing; coming into games and annihilating everything that gets in our way. In Mortal, that was Aegis Imperium and their super-zerg, then TOP alliance. We always get what we want - our piece of land to call home.
They all tried exploiting to get the same unlimited supplies you had. In Mortal the DEVs didn't care, so we got the same unlimited supplies and annihilated them. In Perpetuum the DEVs cared, so when we found out your little exploit and went to the DEVs about it, you got your ass banned.
Nobody held your head under the water and forced you to cheat. Reap what you have sown, little flea. This has been coming for the last 6 months. I hope you enjoyed your parade, it was hard to keep a straight face knowing what was coming for you.
Lets see what you had to say about your innocence on your internal corporation forums:
The Truth Behind The Bannings
I’ll be starting with a clean slate, no bullshit.
Since three weeks after the developer’s insurance fraud intervention I’ve been using an item duplication exploit to create unfathomable volumes of items. This was achieved by placing a minimum of three units of an item in a corporation storage then requesting two or more of them simultaneously on two different clients. Both calls would be received by the server in the same tick (10ms roughly).
What this means is that the server responded to both calls at the same time in the same way, since both calls were requesting two of the three items in my example both clients would receive two items, out of a stack of three. There is no maximum number of items you could request, you simply had to have at least one being sent to each client and one left in storage.
The only limiting factors to the item stack size are the volume and unit integers. Once you go past around nine or ten integers you have the possibility of the entire stack disappearing except one unit. This happened a number of times.
The exploit was found, used and profits distributed only by me. No one else in the corporation knew of the exploits existence, nor did they know the items they were using where as a result of it. Siddy is the only person in M2S to have been banned other than me, I’m assuming this is due to both of our close connections to the developers and another case of victim by association.
There’s the how and the who, now for the why. After how the Avatar Creations development team handled insurance fraud I vowed never to report an exploit, EULA violation of put any reasonable amount of effort into acquiring items in Perpetuum ever again. I lied to you about how we gained our items post insurance fraud and attempted to cover up this exploits reveal however I haven’t lied about anything else. Insurance fraud really was as I wrote, personal, targeted and vindictive.
After insurance fraud my outlook on Perpetuum changed considerably, the developers showed how little they cared for the efforts of me and M2S to help this game succeed. Subsequently I wasn’t playing purely for enjoyment; a large portion of me was playing for destruction. Ordinarily I’m not one to hold a grudge however it was the last straw in a lengthy series of events.
The best way to achieve my new goals was to simply keep M2S alive and kicking in the best form possible.
As the developers had showed their blatant disregard for the time and effort we spent acquiring items I wasn’t going to piss in the wind. If we were going to stay we needed an effortless economic system. This left me with two options, quit or find a way to acquire unlimited resources. Obviously I pursued the second option. For a number of weeks after insurance fraud I probed all areas of Perpetuum looking for vulnerabilities. Three weeks later I had found one and begun putting it to use, the rest is history.
I lied to you about how we acquired our items post insurance fraud and attempted to cover up the duplication exploits reveal. I hope I’ve explained why I lied about how we gained our items and that you can understand the reasoning behind it, no matter how convoluted it may seem. In regards to my attempts to cover up this exploits reveal, if you haven’t guessed it already I don’t care much for Perpetuum nor its development team. What I do care for is M2S.
I attempted to cover up the reveal in order to keep M2S going. At the time I didn’t want our community to break up nor do I now; however I expected that to be the likely result if you found out. The reasoning is spiteful, grudge bearing and hateful I know. I’m not saying it’s right, just that it’s the truth behind my actions.
Whatever happens from here on I’ve had a great time playing with you guys and girls.
*For the development team; the feelings you bear towards me now are the same I felt towards you the day of insurance fraud. Fuck. You.
Why would anyone come to threaten us? We've said publically on many occassions that we only want one island, and one outpost for ourselves. It takes an idiot of considerable magnitude to go poking a wasps nest when the wasps aren't aggressive.
You had plenty of warning, and you just couldn't resist to go poke the wasp nest. Enjoy the results, we certainly are.
from what I remember CIR were well organised and very dedicated, and probably the only corp in the game which was like that.
The rest folded and went to play other games and as the population of the game diminished its really easy for any well organised and commited group of people to exploit the territory that was left.
It just goes to show that, really, any legitimate organisation of people can conquer all without the need of exploits and abusing.
I liken it to microsoft, at the time there was no competition and they did a good job establishing themselves. CIR are just very well established, I'd highly doubt that they would even have a need to exploit, their legitimate business works far better than M2S's illigitimate method.
Thats not to say CIr are undefeatable, any other organisation can come in and mess them up, EVE Players are certainly extremly experienced and skillfull people with inhuman determination..
Might actually be a good time to pop in and see how this story is yet to unfold
And if there's anyone who can find a good exploit and put it to personal use it's EVE players, should make for some interesting times over here.
