If you have the opinion that features X, Y, and Z are fun, that's great -- but let's not pretend that without features X, Y, and Z a game isn't an RPG because that's wrong.

I agree. the meaning of a RPG video game is different from Role Playing in the real word (meaning)

    So:

    • Making games more people enjoy is hating gaming.

    Got it.

Therefore, in the interest of gaming love developers should strive to make games nobody likes!

They only seem equivalent to GMs due to most people's relationships with them.  However, they are no different than anyone else.  A GM in a game world has extra-game abilities.  Teleport, ban, mute, etc, etc.   "RL GMs" have none of these and are no different than any other player in the "game".

Oh you have a role alright, in your standard RPG Role Playing Game (in case you don't know what RPG stands for), your role is grinding.

There are games and then there are addiction machines we also call games for some reason. Which is the better type of game - slot machines or the arcade games of old? Most MMO"RPG"s are nothing more than fancy slot machines that rely on addiction rather than fun and skills to make people play them.  Skinner box design may well get more people to ''play'' these ''games'', but they are lesser games as a result.
