Why is the word "Flake", "Flaky" over-used and/or the new internet trend?

I see it in every review and many topics, and I think we should abolish the use of this word.
Everyone describes pieces of hardware as being "Flaky", and it's annoying. Let's get back to the good old "this is a piece of sh**".
