I was having a conversation with my friend about combatting gold farmers and spammers in-game and trying to think of what game has the least impact from it. The only game I could really say that seemed to have done it well was EVE, however with 90% of my time in Alliance and Corp chat it is easy to miss any ISK spamming that is going on, so what do you guys think?

Lots of contract scam spam in the trade hubs, but no gold spam at all these days. the spam is all players..
Give me liberty or give me lasers
A good year ago I was still blocking ISK sellers. Now? haven't seen one in ages(And no, not because I have blocked them ALL :P).
I said none since they are so infrequent its not worth mentioning. Don't think I have gotten an isk seller eve-mail in almost a year.
Couple of years ago it was pretty bad, but now, I can'r recall seeing any in the channels I peruse.
About once a year I see a gold spammer in local. It's not really worth their time to spam since local chat channels aren't interconnected.
The NPC corp and race channels see it more often but it's reported right away and even then it's rare enough to be a surprise when you see it.
Never got an ingame mail.
I'm logged in for an entire day most of the time so I get a full days worth of chatter.
Basically the "gold" spamming is minimal.
in 2010 i saw 2 maybe 3
mostly the spam i see is in jita and its
"im quiting the game, and im giving everything away, send me isk and ill send you 2x the ammount" which is of course a scam
or
"selling raven navy issue 200 million isk (link to contract of a normal raven with a 200 million isk price tag)"
or my favorite
"selling charron for 500 million isk (link to 1 unit of carbon with a 500 million isk price tag)"
Seen a couple in Rookie Help in the last month or so but they usually get the boot pretty fast. Nothing in any other channel and no mails. This game has the least amount of in game currency spamming of any game I've played.

In EVE you can set a 'fine' that unknown people must pay to contact you. I had set this to the maximum value off and on to deter ISK sellers - but that was a few years ago. At some point I just made it free to contact me and I haven't seen a "gold seller" since.
I would say they've been pretty much weeded out thanks to PLEX and 1-click spam reporting.
