Me and my friends got tatoos. whats your opinion on this?

me and my 2 other friends on the wrestling team each got tatoos placed on the outside of our right bisept. mines is the japanese symbol for Assassin, my friends the japanese symbol for theif, and my other friend the japanese symbol for dragon i think they are pretty cool. we are all on the wrestling team at my school. yesterday we had a meet and during weight ins the other team asked me and my friends  what the symbols ment. when we told them they were slightly intimidated. we nick named one another by our symbols... i think its pretty cool whats your opinion on this?

Its pretty dumb. It is a obvious sign of white trash. In fact, the Air Force even checks you for mental illness when they see a tatoo on you. They send you to the shrink if they see one. Employers also look down on it.

First off I have a Tribal sleave going up my right arm so im definatly not against tatoos.

But getting "Almost" matching tatoos with your friends all at the same time seems kind of ..........Gay. Im not trying to flame you or bring you down if you like it Great for you but I personaly have never been the type to get ANYTHING similiar to anyone I know becouse it just seems like im trying to be like everyone else. But if you and your friends are happy with them then great just as long as you like it

Yea Chinese/Japanese words as tattoos are all the rage these days.

I guess it looks cool to random people, but really it looks dumb to people who can read japanese.

Sorry... but if i were walking around with the word "Assassin" in English tattooed on my arm, i think i'd be shunned.

nothing wrong with tats just anouther way to express yourself your body is a canvas just like any other media. althought im not sure if id dig the whole "matching tattoos" thing but to each their own. for me each tattoo i get is a symbol of something that has had meaning in my life. If you do get tattoos i highly reccomend getting orignals done and not choosing them out of a flash book. put a lil of your self into them.

I don't see the problem with matching tatoos, me and my friends were wondering a year ago to get the same tatoo/symbol/tribal but real small somewhere on our body. But then we realised that it looks great now but when you got grandchildren i don't want to have some tatoos on my rimpling (don't know how you write it) body. If you are happy with it that's the most important of all. I think the main problem with tatoos is that you will regret it later. Always remind me of people who write something racist on their body and after a few years realise how stupid they were but still have that tatoo on their body. There was documentary once about people with tatoos and there was a guy with "hate you mum" on his chest and now he lives back with his parents.

Who's 14? You can't do it in belgium when you are 14 i think (must be 18), that's a bit young in my eyes. You just got your first bodyhairs at that age.

Althought I dont have any tatoos or any piercing,  I hardly see what is wrong with them.  You want them, get them. However, I will just give you once, a little warning, your stuck with it for life.  Will that tatoo/piercing be okay for all your life?

 

Since I was unable to figure what could be acceptable for me to bear all my life and that I hate any kind of suffering, no matter how small, I figure if I get a tattoo or a piercing in my life ever it will be related to the wedding, which lead to another issue, no serious tattoo maker will make a tattoo on a finger to show it is a ring, they fear it will lose it integrity.

 

But again, there is nothing wrong with a tattoo or a piercing, it dont affect anybody else.  I have friends who have more tattoos then normal skins, which was there choice.

 

If a job turn an employee because of a tattoo, then it was not worthy of having you there in the first place.  If your a doctor(or a game dev) and your the best, no employer will turn you down because you have a tattoo...if you work with public, then you should not have a tattoo because you should want to have everyone happy with you, not be confrontional.

I would kill myself if I got a tattoo at 14. God knows what kind of stupid shit I would have got. All I have to say is theres millions of people who have Japanese symbols as tattoos now. IMO, it's pretty stupid. And if I was a Japenese guy I would laugh at some dorky(not saying your dorky) white kid with one. I've always thought if you're going to get a tattoo, try your best to make it original in some way. I can't imagine meeting someone in the street with the same Tattoo I had. What would say to them?

And on one last note, what if in the near future you figure out your friends are douches? I had a lot of friends who ended up being asses from 14 to the end of high school. Then you'd have to look at him and remeber " we have matching tattoos." That would be shitty, no?

Nothing wrong with tatoos, they do not appeal to me, but i have no problem is someone has them. I really don't like them myself, but then again i do not like art and tatoos are a form of art.

 where im at you can get a parental waver form signed to get a tatoo.

and my tatoo is at a spot that can be easily covered up with a T-shirt

you may not have known but MR.Rogers had many a tatoo on his arms... thus the reason he wore a sweater all the time.

No he said he was from belgium and that you need to be 18 there to get tatoo, same here in holland i think, with exeption if you have premision from you parents, but not sure about that
