THE WHOLE SERVER!

I guess the influx from EVE was just a bit more than they could handle.  The combined awesomeness of so many Important Internet Spaceship Captains combined with the regular subscriber base has caused their poor server hamsters to have a stroke or something.

On a more serious note though, I've seen an ever increasing number of EVE folks migrating over to Perpetuum, add to that the subscription is only 10 bucks and there have been many pleasant surprises so far.  If nothing else It will make for an enjoyable break from EVE and possibly a new home if CCP can't get over their love of 1000$ pants, lying through their teeth, using all the sub money that should be going for EVE to develop some other tripe and other assorted general asshattery.

Fly sa...er what is it, stomp safe now?

The devs posted that they didn't expect to hit these population levels for another several months so, yes, the influx hit them pretty hard.

It has a lot of "feel" like EVE but also quite a bit of differences.  I like it so far.

As for CCP and EVE:  They decided to change the game in ways some don't care for.  Others like the changes, except the prices, and want even more (up through and including SP for $$$).  As such, the change will hurt their wallets a bit now but if they can attract the "wallets for the win" croud, they'll do fine for quite some time.  SWG lasted LONG after the NGE went out.

I don't think CCP will reverse itself on their decisions to put in MT fully - with such things as remaps, standings gains, around to ships, ammo and other such items.  This will change the game in many ways - both direct and indirect.  The community will be different and the loss of faith in CCP... I don't think they'll get back to where players muttered AT them but backed them up on forums all over the place.  Those days are gone.

Even if they do say they'll reverse themselves:  Trust is fragile in EVE.  When the makers of a game that incorporates lying, cheating, stealing, scamming...  When they start pulling crap stunts - who the hell could trust THEM after this?  "Vanity only" - first up: "Plex for Remaps!" - ummm.. not vainty.  News-letter, CEO letter stuff...  It's not Perpetuum so "old news" now.

Perpetuum seems to have a very good development attitude and support ideology.  It'll grow and that will make this game a lot better - kind of like what I hear CCP/EVE was 5 or so years ago and that kind of spirit and attitude will draw support from the users.

Also made a trial account 2 days ago, the game seems in some points very much like EVE, i prefer the wasd combat actually, and there was even a GM greeting me on my first login asking if he could help, so overall im very impressed with perpetuum so far.

and the 9-10 euro a month only increases that appeal, i hope they fix their server issues soon, we know they are working hard on it, since they actually communicate with their uses often. so overall im very impressed.

Most likely gonna sub, atleast until SWTOR maybe even after, who knows :)

Two things I can't understand is that 'this is a mech MMO'.

Where have you been all my life and why am I ONLY NOW hearing about this game?!

Been impressed with what the community and the dev have been saying so will sub once my bandwidth rolls over.

    Gdemami -
Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
