Tell me that this class wouldn't be cool to see in a new fantasy mmo...

Okay, a new mmo comes out. Something you never really heard of, but a great new fantasy mmo that has many different classes including the traditional wizards, warriors, sorcerers, necromancers, clerics, monks, and so on...
But they have a few new classes that differ from the ordinary...
and this new class is trying to get a quick popularity jump by taking some of it's abilities from the ever popular Spiderman in recent movies...
It's called say the Aracnamancer class.
An avatar that roots mobs and other players in PvP with "root webs" that entangle the victim in a full blown web that bags the victim up for a period of time.
Instead of the mana or power bar for this class, it instead has a "silk" bar that runs out and refills slowly much as a power bar would for magic users.
Also in its abilities are web-blasters that make your avatar shoot hard balls of tight-bound webbing out like rocks at your target... and maybe a strand-strike hotbar option that shoots a "rope" of webbing around the victims mid section then allowing you to perform 2nd step attacks like flailing the caught victim over your head into the ground or swinging him in a circle which then releases him thru the air and causes damage on ground impact. The swinging/flailing would use lots of endurance, not silk in that instance. Also ofcourse, there would be many ways for a victim caught in the rope to break free or reverse the action and use it against the Aracnamancer... and hopefully they would be able to atleast break free because the 2nd step flail or swing/release would cause much more damage then just a one-step strike. The break free would depend on the class caught lasso'd I suppose. For example a warrior may just have to time a swing at the right time before getting flailed thru the air to simply cut the web which also might cause the Aracnamancer to fall backwards (and perhaps on his rear depending on the STR of the warrior) delaying his next move for a second or two... and a monk caught lasso'd might be able to perfectly time a "reverse action" move which would cause him to quickly break the loop around him and reverse the lasso effect onto the Aracnamancer. Or something. Anyhow just brainstorming here. Heh.
Okay, okay... Maybe it wouldn't work well in a fantasy mmo with warriors and wizzards...
But one thing is for sure... I bet that it would be a very popular class in such a game with the mega popularity of Spidey these days, and also just because it would be so different then the ordinary in such a game.

Well i've seen rpg's were there are skills/spells like this included in a wizard/sorcerer/druid spellkit. I dont really see the need for a new class devoted to these things whilst u might as well include those things in another class.
I'd would be nice to have some new playerclasses but theres no need for them if they use skills and spells that might as well belong to another class.
When you think of it...what else is there really room for..
Theres People who control the Arcanes/Gods, People who bring back the dead/control animals, all sorts of melee fighters, people who steal/hide/dig, People who spread the light, people who spread the darkness..
Yes, charactor roles do have ties into different historys, etc. and there really is nothing that is left out, the charactors show all the walks of life there are or ever thought to be.

spidey... eh no that wouldnt be a char we would want... plus thats called copyright infringement ^_^.... or atleast as close as you can get to it....
but i like the idea of a Marauder kind of class...that just unloads stuff from his armour... i guess it would be an all in one defence??
For the original poster... uhh.. yea, that would be cool for the person playing that class and suck for everyone else. In PvP, how boring would that be for everyone else... they go into battle to get stuck by a web and then what? They can go hang out with the family because the web holds them for like 10-15 minutes. Umm, real fun.
I think all the response suggestions have a way better chance. I'd definitely play an Assman class...

zaxtor...i think ure idea is brilliant!!!
i mean...that's an awsome idea. my addition is that instead of a silk bar, it cuts into ure hp or strength or somthing since ure shooting out part of ureself. also, how about you can only shoot it out of ure butt (jk). but seriosly, maybe give it 8 limbs or somthing. like i said, its a great idea, but it needs some work.
