They just added new lvl 40-80 repeatable solo dungeons just as you ask for.

The game has a ton of content for leveling multiple ways now.

The cash shop has good items to kick start a newer player, but NO "I win", more like "I have a chance to compete somewhat" gear (only tier 1 PVP armor/weapons). Some nice mounts, that you can get in game.

The pay model being "freemium" is a great way to go. It is free, and you really can enjoy it free till max level. Max level especially PVP you need to go premium, but this is a great model.

They also did something to the graphics. Looks sweet. Everything looks darker, as in deeper shadows, and darker view distance at night. Looks nice.

Even the bug I found in the expansion led to a funny time for me.

Bug - Refuge (solo lvl 80 dungeon for rares) It was bugged, and didn't instance. You enter your mission, everyone else is also in there. Funny watching people roam around. I ran to the end hoping to get a shot at the boss for my rares.

I get to him just in time, and snag the kill. I then notice a rival guild member say "WTF I clear the whole effin dungeon and a effin Meridian member comes and steals the boss!"

    Ha! Ha!

(bug is being fixed as I type this with downtime)

My question is this, is there a client download? I have not been able to find my boxed copy of the game but I have not found a client download on the website. Probably looking in the wrong spot or it is totally in front of my face but I have not found one. If anyone knows where it is let me know.

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

I think its a great move for AOC but only time will tell although if you have any interest in the game it's really a no brainer now to try it.

Funcom pulling a last resort move for a dying game, lol...this game lacked the love and support from day one. The first clue to this was lanching day...the game was completely broken and servers couldn't handle the load. The game had memory leaks that caused frequent crashing for months afterward and still the company said it was ready for launch even though beta testers and Devs told them it wasn't.

From what I heard and read they had money issues, they couldn't postpone the launch for another 6 months anymore, when you're almost out of budget and loans with no option for more, then you have little choice but to release, a dilemma many MMO companies have found themselves in.

As for no love or dying game: the game has become significantly improved in various areas, not the least in the stability department. Gameplay is a pretty smooth ride from start to level cap compared to how it was. Of course, it might still not be a game for a number of people who'll give it a try or for ex-AoC gamers who are stuck in the 'never forgive FC again' kind of attitude, but for those people there are other games they can turn to.

What?  they postponed for 18 months to upgrade graphics to DX10.  Another 3-6 months to fix the bugs would have done them wonders.  Also, your game is asking to fail when a dev replies to questions on the games crafting system with "it's in game and functional".   Besides, it seemed like levels 1-20 were created by one developing house, and then the rest of the game was added on top of by a different company without any love for the game or Hyboria.  Plus, they launched without 2/;3 of the features listed on the box!  Those are the reasons I won't ever touch a funcom product again.  Shame on them for me purchasing their first MMORPG when it launched.  Shame on me for not learning my lesson and buying AoC.  I won't give them a 3rd chance to steal my money.

Yes, you can download the f2p client.  I did so a couple weeks back.
