Looks like an interesting game. Has anyone reached the level cap? I've heard it's grindy 40+, but are there fun activities to takepart in like meaningful PvP or some kind of challenging PvE>

At lv38+ exp from main quests drop off significantly. You're looking at either repeatable quests from NPCs or guild quests (from papers you buy) that are somewhat worse than repeatables. I'm at lv47 on the 3rd server, grinding in a lv45 5-man dungeon with a partner to get fast exp (around 1% per every 4~5 monster pull).

Looking at the class list, the Ranger class (final RDPS phys+atk), Templar class (Tank class final) and Warlock (Mage class final) are all grindfests on their own (although unreachable due to the lv50 cap). For example, the worst one is the Ranger - require lv60 Hunter (starting RDPS phys+atk class) and lv60 Martial Artist (2nd M-DPS phys+atk class).

PvP... I have no idea about PvP. PvE... only the dungeons are accessible challenges; challenges that mostly require a skilled eye to notice debuffs cast on your char and dodging AoEs from the boss monsters. And taking a huge amount of damage. That's about it. You don't need much strategies in the dungeons - they're like FPS maps, one way one route. Pretty, though.

Guild bosses (world map bosses) are stronger, but I don't see much challenge apart from getting a large enough raid party and having a few healers. The residing mobs next to those bosses are usually no more than an annoyance when you're killing the boss.

    Hope that helps.

It's not the most exciting or original game around, but it definitely looks nice and I'm having a good time playing it - just a bit of harmless fun.

collision detection is horrible. Hard for me to play past that. Call me what you will, but this is one flaw that irritates me to the nth degree

I do see a lot of low posting users in this thread which sometimes causes the viewers of this forum to doubt the legitimacy of their statements. I'd like to offer my own feedback about Eden Eternal, as I played it in closed beta briefly and moved right into open beta (which is really a "soft release" since the cash shop is live and accepting your hard-earned $$$).

    Graphics:

The graphics and art direction of the game are just amazing. Yes, I said amazing. I am personally not a fan of real anime-inspired games, nor ones that ooze eastern mysticism. Yet for some reason, I absolutely love the character/monster models and animation. There is a very cohesive art direction and everything just "fits" together as it should. Characters have a touch of anime-inspiration tempered with largely fantasy elements, although some classes display more modern designs (such as the engieneer). With the graphics settings turned all the way up, this is actually a beautiful game to look at. If you enjoy the design behind modern Dragon Quest games, this is a perfect fit for you. My only criticism is the number of armor models is limited to your class and the outfit system (which others commented on in this thread), so players in the same class will look largely the same (outside of color dye choices). I imagine this is intentional to drive players to the cash shop to buy "alternate outfits", but I don't have a problem with that.

    Gameplay:

The basic game is a very simple and straightforward "themepark" style MMO. Grab a few quests, kill/collect as needed, turn-in for gold and experience, rinse and repeat. Yet the fast-paced combat, quick respawns of mobs, and enjoyable grouping element makes this entire process seem more fluid and less of a chore than other games I've tried in the past. Add in the ability to change classes on a whim in the field, combined with the wonderful armor system (already described by others, but I LOVE the fact it doesn't waste inventory space) and you have the ability to quickly switch classes and therefore roles as desired. The game is a bit AoE heavy in normal fighting, but this isn't uncommon and all classes have the ability to do an AoE so it is reasonable balanced. With a character at level 37, I have seen a drop-off in granted experience and the grind is a bit more visible after lvl 35. However, I've been spending more time doing (extremely grind-y) guild quests to build up guild fame and trying to help level-up my guild (guild towns are another interesting facet that I haven't really tried just yet).

    Free-to-play:

Here it is - the game really is free. Sure there are benefits to the cash shop (experience boosters being a nice perk, as are extra storage space, dyes, etc), but you don't need any of these items to play and enjoy the game right now. I'm always worried about this methodology changing over time, but for now, I've only spent a few dollars out of curiosity and decided while I got my money's worth, I didn't need to keep investing. I'm not certain how they will handle additional content updates in the future (such as a cost to unlock), but I am quite impressed by the model and accessibility of this game without spending anything.

Ok, as one of the few, who reached lvl 50, i tell you how you lvl fast.

Let me say this: lvl 50 can be reached in 3 days. I tested it to lvl 40 in 12h.

I never spend 1 cent in that game, have 2k gold, have 300 enchant stones (worth 2k gold), reached lvl 50, stopped playing bcz of the exams. Took me 9 days.

    My hints:

Lvl 37,38: lvl 38 has a quest gap, you should join a Guild to do Guild quests, OR:

you go do 5 man Dungeon runs with all Exp, charms on you. All exp charms on you (7day charm (50% exp), 1 day charm (25%exp), 1h 50% exp, 1h 25%exp and 30% exp from Monster-Spawn Event= 180% bonus Exp

Lets say in vile shark u gain in team 5k exp each mob, with all charms on you, u get like 15k exp, 3x more!

lvl 41: THe whole point is: get to lvl 41 as fast as possible: u can do then 4 quests at once, wich give you depending on your lvl 1-4% exp, THose quests give good money and are done in like 5min.

lvl 45: Get all possible running speed items(2 rings, 1 coat, 1 from lvl 20 or 40 wapon) Get your bard to lvl 30 and do Venin -Dungeon runs (check out youtube-vids)

with all charms on again you will get from 45 to 50 in 2h. Not only your main lvl will be lvl 50, but your bard also lvl 50.

Making him to a real farming machine, will you bring very high Gold income. (200-400 Gold each hour)

You can do that with Mage and Iron Man too. just its a bit slower and more dangerous.

lvl 55: (not out yet) :  In that dungeon u can do the same, just the income is like 500-800 Gold.

Money isnt really a problem, nor the grind.

The danger of that method is, you will get bored fast and skip alot of quests ... And there isnt much content yet keeping you to play. Some go farm trophies in low lvl dungeons, some go help others lvl up. Whatever.

I enjoyed the game, but real life catched up.

There are definitely some nice touches in there for Eden Eternal, but the gameplay isn't anything we haven't seen a dozen times before.

As long as you cant get things that help you enchant your equipment or resourses from the cash shop, i guess its ok. Otherwise its just another p2w.

Guess ill give it a try.

Well... You CAN purchase the scrolls (guardian for armor and power for weapons) and also safety stones from the cash shop that keep your gear from breaking as you enchant it (if it fails the enchant roll, which on the upper levels is more and more likely).  But since the game is currently PvE only, I can't see that makes much difference.  Its the Free Realms style kiddie graphics that I don't really care for. But then thats simply a matter of personal taste. YMMV

The best part of EE, in my opinion, is currently the cash shop.

Cash shops generally kill a game for me, especially if I played the CB. However, all cash items in EE except for dyes are tradable for in game currency.  The in game currency is fairly easy to accumulate. At level 45, I've purchased just about everything I want from the cash shop with my in game gold, and have plenty left over for equips, upgrades, etc. I've never really found myself wanting an item and not having enough gold for it.

On the other hand, I didn't see anything about the outrageously expensive crafting system, or the fact that crafting any item above level 30 has a fail rate which consumes the items used. EE would probably NOT be the best game for craftaholics.

Every Korean grinder after RO has been a major disappointment (to me).

This one doesn't deliver enough to change the trend.

dont waste your time on this is a childish and silly game.

this game doesnt bring anything new to the table except changing classes to regrind.

get to lvl 50 in 6 days, then get banned for logging into the forum with different ip as I was travelling.

gave me back my account a week later but I have lost interest :)

i am just glad that this isnt the only game on the internet.

dragon nest is better if u are looking for the same anime style.

Most of our game clan members are over 30 and we like EE, so i don't really agree with these "children" game comments.. :p

Good, clean and polished game mechanics that many mmo's with eye candy today forget and it's casual player friendly with short instances and small areas.

It somewhat reminds me from times when gaming was not so 'serios' bisnis.

EE doesn't really offer much new (free class choice is fun tho) but there's nothing wrong with it either..

Ofc if you want to power level to max instantly and want "endgame" purple gear for winzors i'd suggest not to bother with this.. it's better for everyone.

    cheers
