I suddenly have the hankering for a RTS, but at the same time I want to play an MMO.
I am curious whether there are any MMO's currently out there which let you build up a city and then expand onto a world map to either settle new lands or attack opposing players?
I'd prefer something with a medieval feel to it, but modern/futuristic is fine too, and preferably something with current gen GFX.
Thanks.

Well there are about 400 Facebook games that match that description unfortunately all the way from Travain to Evony. Empire and State might fit your bill but it is still very much in the developmen stage eventhough you can sign up to test it. Age of Empires Online might be worth a look also.
Dawn of Fantasy is the only one I could think of, its medival, RTS, and MMO
Its in closed beta, look it up, but it isn't released yet. Its still under heavy testing.
And can't say anymore since I think I'm still under NDA :P
Mod's please edit if this is breaking rules, while I don't think so = since all those info are on the main page anyways.
happy gaming
How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.
There's Stronghold Kingdoms, but IMHO, it's kinda pathetic. Might be passable as a Facebook game, but as a standalone, it's poor quality, even considering that it's F2P (with a cash shop) I mean, the gameplay and mechanics are ok (if you're into the Facebook style of gameplay where you just log in for a few minutes, a few times a day) but the graphics are so bad, it makes me wonder why it isn't more text based ala Mafia Wars or something.
Not much of a recommendation, I know, but YMMV
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
