Heya folks,
Played this game in beta and on the trial now, but am wondering if some of the experianced players(preferably those that still actively play the game) could answer a question for me...
How solo-friendly is the game?
I have heard some horror stories about post patch 1 stuff, but was told that most of that was remedied now. Basically, I'm hoping it does not have the forced-grouping of FFXI and EQ2 but at the same time is a bit more of a challange then the solo play of Horizons and SWG.
Its looking good so far, but I imagine that the Trial will not(seeing as I don't have time to play it for every waking moment of the two weeks) answer all my questions regarding this .. so .. I'm hoping that mybey some of you can

First of all forget the horror stories of post patch one. The problems were addressed rather quickly.
Now is the game solo friendly? Depends on your view of solo friendly. You can kill things on your own, but the rate of advancement would be really slow.

I'd really like to know a bit more about solo. I like grouping, but what concerns me more is it possible to survive in the wilderness alone. I loved the world back then in Final Beta and liked exploring, but game had a lot of other issues then. So will I be able to make long trips alone when I don't feel like grouping and also want to dig for mats a bit? Or just venturing alone is a suicide?

That is one of the best things about this game, it is possible to explore much of it no matter what level you are. The trick is that you have to learn how the animals act, how far they can see, where they go. Exploration is all about sneaking and if good at it, you can go most places in the game. So as long as you really pay attention and learn about the area you visit, you can manage to survive solo.

True but still it is dangerous alone out there in the big bad world, sometimes its better to team up whit a healer friend and get a lot exp and fun that way (had a lot of nice hunts with just 1 meleer and me as healer... thx Todie )
Some good knowledge of the mobs is really needed as mentioned before, otherwise it is a sure dead... (dont try to run past cloppers cause you'll have to run really hard with a horde of angro cloppers behind you )
Voer geen oorlog, voer de eendjes...
